Well the pump on my Ingersol Rand SS5 finally gave our. Made it 10 years so I’m not complaining. To make a quick fix I grabbed a HF 5hp pump and retrofitted it to the tank. Went to start it up and the motor started slowing at around 100 PSI or so, and the pressure switch didn’t cut it off at 135 like normal. So I grabbed a new pressure switch, and that solved the cut out issue, but still it gets slow at around 100psi, and fluctuates rpm. I thought maybe the belt, but tension is good, I’m only using one belt on the double pump pulley though, don’t think that would matter though.
Any ideas on things I can check? I’ve wasted almost 2 days Messi g with this thing, and I need it up and running today, or I am pulling the trigger on a new Quincy.....
