Airline trolley conversion

Hi guys,

I bought these Airline trolleys recently because I think it will have some nice options as tool storage. The Trolleys are brand new, the drawers are used but from aluminium. I also bought some EVA foam sheets. Thinking of making dividers from triplex and glue the foam on top of it. If you guys have some other ideas please feel free to share! One will be dedicated to my pit box trolley (I teach on track on the motorcycle) and there will be some electric fan built in the top so my helmet can dry in between sessions.

Hi Mike, I did a quick search but couldn't find any thread, I only saw 2 other guys on You Tube doing it and they had some cool ideas.

Damn those ideas are all good! Only unfortunately in Holland we need to keep our guns in vaults and ammo and firearm separated

Notice I didn’t put guns, just gun parts/accessories. Not required for us, but I’m a firm believer in using safes for firearms. Now my ammo fort is stacked deep in the garage. Do y’all have to store ammo in safes/vaults too?

Yes we do need to store Ammo and firearms seperately both in a vault. We are also not allowed to have automatic firearms only if you work in law enforcement

I am thinking of making a frame of 4040 extruded aluminium and create a foldable workbench. My workspace is limited so that would make a nice compact solution. So instead of the Tanos trolley the airline trolley would used.

Been looking into some idea's, I will make some of the trolley drawers for my tools, I only don't know how to solve the idea of holding the stubbies. Been thinking of using some ply wood for the 'frame' and then covering it with EVA foam, punching out the holes for the tools and maybe paint the wood underneath so you will get sort of shadow foam idea. Any thoughts or other suggestions?View attachment 1897651
