The Best Garage of 2010 got me to thinking about what are your favorite garages that have been posted here since the site started. I am just now becoming a regular here and would love to see which builds are in your favorite list.

I loved being able to follow the links and explore some garages I haven't found yet.

I'll start off with one of my favorite that I have stumbled across

Nimrod's Garage

Let's see your all time favorites...

I don't really have a favourite on here. None of these other people's garages are perfect for me, personally, and I think for most of us it's like that. However taking ideas and bits and pieces from each will be a huge huge help.
I like the 12 gauge garage because it's almost the same size as my garage (I'm 21x21 ft.) and it has a whole ton of ideas. At the same time, he uses it for woodworking (I won't be) and he has a nook for a slop sink (I don't, although I could if I did some plumbing since I have two stacks on two different sides of the wall) and I want to be able to store two cars, bikes, and outdoor tools... The smaller garages really seem to capture my attention more because they are making do of not only a budget constraint but a space constraint as well... This leads to some pretty ingenious ideas. And as dumb as it may sound, I kind of like the 'cozier' feel of a small garage. Big high ceilings and surgery room clean white walls are great and all, but they're a bit cold and austere for my tastes. *shrug*

I don't normally participate in the "best of" or "favorite" threads because there is SOOOOO much diversity here and peoples tastes are so different. But hdv32's opening statement made me realize they can actually help a new member out.

Here are a couple links to "favorites" threads of yesteryear:
Dated March 2009
Dated January 2010
I don't recall any other earlier ones (help me out folks if you remember any). I guess the website was a pretty small community years ago and it was easier to keep track of them all. Man, has it grown!

With the recent Best of 2010 thread, it is obvious to me there is a shift in the general thoughts on what a garage/shop should be. Downsizing seems to be the trend lately. People are living within their means again and not overextending themselves - that is really good to see. I'm sure a lot of this has been sparked by the recent economic downturn. I've seen and read about too many people loosing everything - that is sad and unfortunate. Lots are STILL just trying to make ends meet. Hopefully the world has learned a valuable lesson.

My only advice is to strive to make your own garage, your favorite garage, without overextending yourself. Only then will you be happy and truly enjoy your workspace.

V10 Killer your garage is killer.... I just spent the last hour going through your thread again and it is certainly one of my favorites. I have been watching your cabinet builds and you are doing a great job. I agree with one of the posts from your thread, with the soffit and the brick work it certainly dresses up the garage.

If you haven't checked out the garage here is the link;

I think you and i have a common employer. I saw the name on the paper where you laid out your cuts for the cabinets. I've used a lot of that paper through the years. I work for one of the TDCC companies in Indianapolis.

Great garage
