Just used my oil filter pliers for the first time. Love them. Didn't even need to jack up the ranger to change it.

^^^^^ Pretty cool Travis! I can't wait to see what you have coming next! Are you working from a particular list or catalog? What I mean is are you trying to get an NOS example of every Channellock tool made during a certain time period or listed in a certain catalog?

I'm trying to get everything that was offered in blue pouches!! LOL!! Seriously though I've got a few older (1966, 1982, 2005) Channellock catalogs that I am referencing, to see what all was available. Think I may pick up the 1987 catalog that I just came across, not sure yet though! :D

^^^^^ It looks like you've got the basics covered. You're off to a great start! That's how I started with Channellocks. I bought a pair that I needed (#911s), and the next thing you know, I've got a drawer full of them. They're good tools for the price, and USA made. Can't beat that.

This Channelock thread is interesting! I have one small blue handled pair of slip joint pliers in their original plastic bag. I picked up an old set the other day, no blue handles, no plastic bag, just old slip joints maybe from the 1940s or 50s. Have to look on AA.
I was thinking Channelock might have been the first to make slip joint pliers. Anyone know?

^^^^^ The #442 is one of my favorite and most used Channellock tools. Good addition to your collection.

Since Craftsman went away from chrome and the smooth / shinny plier type (late 1980's?), I have gone to Channel Lock and a few others including Knipex and Klein. I also have worked to get vintage pliers, etc. as I find them (Cresent, Diamond Horseshoe, etc.)

For Channel Lock brand, I only buy the made in USA ones (the one in the picture from Germany is an inheritance from my late uncle).

After looking through this thread tonight.. I have a new shopping list..!!

Decided to take some pics of all my Channellocks together......here's what I ended up with....:beer:

Everything together....

Closer views....

They're much more fun when you take them out of the package and play with them! Reminds me of The 40 Year Old Virgin with his action figures [emoji1]

Seriously though, nice collection you've got there

Added two that I didn't have, today. The third (the small diagonals) were $5 and in great shape.. The other two were NIB. In all, I spent $20.. Flea Market finds.

Wow Travis!!!! That's about the only way I can say it. That's really an impressive collection. Time to buy the bottom box?

When I bought my set of Channellock 209, I intended to use them as oil filter pliers. I didn't realize that they market them as PVC pliers too. I actually caught that by accident today while finishing up some plumbing, fiasco/nightmare. I ended up putting new strainers in the kitchen sink as an end result. I wanted to snug them up and theses came to mind, worked perfectly.

Got these in the mail today....some NOS white pouch stuff. Some of the pouches also have the MAC label on them which is pretty cool, those seem to be older since they have the older Channellock tools logo on them.

Travis,

I'll just keep saying it....... You've got the greatest NOS Channellock collection on the GJ or probably anywhere else for that matter. The Mac pouches are really cool. I never saw those before. Your collection is really turning into a Channellock history lesson of sorts. It's a great collection!
