Is this e-bay vendor Spaz-Stingray a member of this forum, or have any of the forum members bought from him?
Thanks
Chris
Thanks
Chris
it seems he dosent leave feedback for anybody either.
Thanks all. I was wondering if my experience was different from others but apparently not.
Bought a couple wrenches from him. Chrome was bad, one had a bad tip. The one with the bad tip was artistically photographed to hide it.
Then he offered to refund my cost less shipping, if I mail it back to him on my cost
SO HE COULD SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE.
I will keep it; maybe I can get a vendor to warranty it, but no way am I going to send it back to let someone else get burned.
I bought several other things from him and all were in much worse shape than his descriptions.
I will add him to my 'never buy from' group.
He has a lot of stuff, but beware, he’s not a nice vendor.

You did leave negative feedback?![]()
Actually the feedback system is about to change! The new ebay CEO is doing a lot of good it seems.I won't leave him any feedback.
I don't want the retaliatory feedback. I have 100% and sometimes sell. The retaliatory feedback system protects bad e-bayers like that.
And technically, it wouldn't be right anyway, as he offered me a 'refund' which would total about 40% of what I paid.
I could get a refund through Paypal, as they would refund all my costs but this isn't that expensive an item.
I may find a Mac vendor that will warranty it. If not, well, it wasn't that much.
But I wanted to see if this guy was a chronic jerk.
He is.

Coming soon, sellers will only be able to leave positive feedback for buyers, unless the seller wins an unpaid item dispute, then they can leave negative. Trust me, this policy is going to really change how sellers treat buyers, and has been needed for a long time.
I, and several people got emails with this info in an email from ebay a few weeks ago, it should be implemented soon.
Non payers will be elegible to recieve negative feedback from a sellet.Looks like ebay will become a buyers playground, more reeking of havoc and nonpayers.
I was going to bid on something for sale by spaz-stingray, but then I vaguely remembered something bad about the name.
I did a search here and was lucky to find this year old thread!
i sent him a message that i would like to look at an item, he has for sale, in person.
no response yet.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess what his response will be.
Something along the lines of "sorry, I don't allow any local pickups due to problems with this in the past- if you'd like to bid on this item, please check my feedback and do so in confidence".

I got burned on fleabay about a year ago for $300+. seller kept giving me the run around with bogus tracking numbers. Finally I filed a dispute with paypal. I won and was credited the money back. I'm currently experiencing the same thing on a auction I won last Friday. Today I got 3 bogus tracking numbers. The sellar said I should recieve my item this Friday. They asked me if I could leave feedback today. I responded that I will leave feedback when I recieve the item.
Ebay is really becoming the scammer's paradise. Unfortunately, the resolution through paypal isn't foolproof, either. It's the exception, as opposed to the norm because ebay is painfully behind the scammer's schemes.
Forgive my ignorance, but I'm a little confused here. If you may get scammed from a seller when using Paypal, what is the alternative. If you send them a MO you are REALLY screwed if they decide not to ship it. What am I missing here?
Trust.
Seriously, I've found that 99.9% of people I deal with are more than honest. It's that 0.01% though that can really give you a problem.
You can get screwed every time you turn around, the key is to be as careful and aware of what's happening and try to minimize the likelihood of getting screwed. If you want to completely eliminate any chance of being screwed, you'll have to do all of your transactions face-to-face, and even then you could end up getting screwed.
Knowing how people get ripped off and how sellers rip people off is very important knowledge to have to help keep from being one who gets ripped off.
As I said above, the way Paypal operates right now it's not that hard for a "seller" to rip off a buyer who sends them money on good faith. If you have ANY doubt about the seller, make sure to use a major credit card to "fund" the payment- at least that way you have a bit more in the way of buyer protection - the CC company in general is on the side of the buyer from the start, it's up to the seller to prove that they held up their side of the bargain before the CC company will deny a buyers claim.
On the other hand, I've heard of sellers getting scammed by bogus buyers using the Credit Card "chargeback" via Paypal. The seller sells the item, receives the $$ via Paypal, the seller ships the item, buyer gets the item but then files a chargeback through their Credit card company claiming they never got the item- CC company reverses the charges on Paypal so Paypal ***** the $$$ out of the Seller's Paypal account. And there's not a whole lot you can do to stop it. Once again though, the problem as I see it is with Paypal and how they handle these things. This also reinforces the need for you as a seller to be sure to ship everything you sell with a TRACKING number. If you just stick something in an envelope and mail it first class or parcel post with no tracking, you are leaving yourself open to losing your item AND the $$ you were paid for the item.
