LXC,
There are a few albums on my profile page, click on the one called big vise.

When I have the command of the yutes, I let them strip down as far as they want and let the rough end drag.
Mothers and Grandmas are far better suited for finding things and I'm better at loosing them!!!!!

Once again Royce, you don't disappoint. Not even sure how I missed this thread! I can't wait to see the end result and I am seriously looking forward to what the stand is going to look like.

I like all of the design and blend of precision fab and machined parts, nice details inside and out!

Very well built "machine"

Been following from the start and the idea of seeing it complete is freaking me out.

Absolutely stunning work, and the shear mass of everything is unreal.
Love the details on the meatball and handle.

Please dont worry about bandwidth when posting those final photos,
the bigger the better seems to be the theme anyways!

Thanks Tarbellb,
I have a few things left to do on it and when complete I'll take a bunch of pics to try and capture the massiveness of it.

I'll add more pics to the album

"Give me a vise big enough and a bench on which to place it, and I shall crush the world."

Or something like that. :)

That is one of the most awesome vices ever! Totally impressed by Royce and Dr Scott's work!

So Royce, go weigh your trailer at a truck scale, Then bring that monster back to the scale on the trailer!

I'm not sure how I missed this until you unveiled it over on the main vise thread. I need to venture out of the threads I follow more often!

Either way, if anyone was going to custom fabricate a monster 13" vise, I can't imagine there are two more talented artisans to tackle it than Royce & KMScott. The raw execution, attention to detail and extremely intricate skill sets you fellas continue to display with each of your projects just never ceases to impress but this monster is just jaw dropping.

I can't even imagine how massive this thing is in person. I'll also second the previous recommendation, it may be worth a call to Guinness!

Hats off to Royce & Kevin

Royce,

Phenomenal job. That was one HUGE undertaking, literally. Don't think I could even fit the vise in my shop, let alone fabricate it. Again, great job

You have done great work there. Are you now going to put it to work and get some 'Patina' going?

This thing is awesome! My only problem is that the only perspective on size is that 5 gal NAPA bucket in the background. Any chance you could take a picture with a person or something next to it? Magnificently done!

Boy I just don't know what to do with it, I think it may need to hit the sale block.
Maybe one of the big tool companies might have a interest in it.

Thanks to you and all, it is encouraging when a project is as well received as this one is.

I've said it elsewhere here, when Royce starts a thread it is worth following. THANK YOU for allowing us to follow along and learn a few things from the master.
