Royce (and Kevin) Great job on the vise, and the collaboration.
Soooooo.... What's next? :dunno:

PLEASE don't make us go back to the HF vs. SnapOn /Craftsman circling the drain threads...

Thanks Puget,
That's a tough question,I got a million thoughts and so little focus.

Allrighty then,
I received JZiggy's ram and gauge today and put the mash on it.
I ran the gauge up to just short of the peg at 5900#.
It was not all I could get, but was getting close.
6000#PSIG calcs to 13,458# total force
13,458# calcs to 414 PSI across the jaw surface.
My thanks to JZiggy for making this happen.
I checked some other vises and will post on the vise thread.

Royce

That's a warranty I'll bet my bottom dollar never gets applied for!!!
It sure enough works like it should, makes me proud of what we accomplished Kevin, how about you?

Royce

Yes, very happy how it came out. Really pushed our limits. When you think about it everything was done right, if not then the test you just did would have caused failure's in so many areas. Yep, the project was done right Royce.

Thanks ford,
I just spent the week with Kevin up at at our place.
Kevin and I have been chatting and working on things for a few years now, long distance.
This was our first time meeting face to face and we got to spend some time farting around the shop.
He also got to give the Millscott a spin for the first time.
It was such a joy and we had a ball.

Royce , where did the vise end up? ( looks like a Rockler store?) You may have mentioned it In the thread but I am too lazy to go back and re-read it…

As we were walking into the lobby at Chena Hot Springs earlier this week, I was stopped in my tracks by this:

…which significantly delayed the check-in process and ultimately led me to this thread.

I had to sit there for a while and just stare at it.
