Time for a bulk update... let's start with the Camaro.
I set aside almost an entire saturday in anticipation of fighting the last of the 4 link welding. Well the new helmet surprised me yet again and in 1.5 hrs I was done..... so the 4 link ive been setting on since 2011? Welded to the chassis! I also dropped my rear axle housing off to get the 3rd member done. Once i get it back ill finish ticking the lower brackets on and the same shop will finish the welds (the build rock crawlers).
Since that was done I cut the templates and taped up the cut lines for the minitubs. finally into some heavy modding and it feels pretty good to get past the sheetmetal.... at least for a bit.
Also building on the momentum of this week, I finalized the install of the rest of the front frame components. Its so good to see this finished out. Im trying to build some momentum to push me into getting the suspension under the car before years end. Then I can start mocking up lines and exhaust
The parts bench is getting a little light, and i wanted some better organization then the bin organizer I had. So I snagged a few packout cases to organize hardware (including the chassis work hardware waiting to bolt the chassis together). The bin rack gone left a nice home for my welder. This now its home when not in use.
There's been quite a bit of shuffle and reorg on both sides of the garage with a few more planned. I completely emptied the under stairs nook, freeing up some great storage, but also dedicated space for all things lift related. Eventually the Jack's will go here as well once the frame is out of the way.
I want to use this vertical space to hang some of the larger remaining body panels to get them off the floor. Simple brackets and chain link will only take an afternoon.
Ive finally got some traction getting the other side purged.... this is first pass at clearing out and a little reorganizing. All the yard stuff was on the wall rack by the door, now thats all freeed up (dont mind the abundance of pesticides....... they will be used)
There was a cube organizing cabinet thats now gone that was next to the fridge still need some additional work but progress is progress
Again taking advantage of vertical space, the lawnmower and leaf blower has always been in this space so it made sense to optimize for it. Some more milwaukee packout wall hangers handled the string trimmer and attachments, and i found a small adjustable shelf to get the fuel cans and sprayers up above the mower instead of crowding around the mower. I want a different hanger for the blower, but I want to use this setup a few times to see what else I need.
Id love to make the floor match my side, but thats more than I wanna spend at the moment. Id rather have the funds for the car project if I need something.
