Because I am indecisive AF I can't make my mind up on colors for the 150. It just hasn't really clicked for me yet. I am not quite happy with it. Ive been contemplating redoing the graphics because they fit like **** and coating the forks. I was thinking of doing the forks and some other bits in the cerakote Burnt Bronze. The same color I had done parts on my Zerode Taniwha MTB a couple years ago.

If I got rid of all the orange here is how It would look...

20220127_173211.jpg

I think I am really liking it. I kinda wanna do the frame white but I am trying to convince myself to leave the frame alone.

Here are a couple builds that are very similar that I think look amazing.

s600_79_plastics_installed.jpg

IMG_0013.JPG

I still really want to do a bike with the KTM moto 2 livery that I posted previously. I think the 250 might be the perfect build for that. Its already orange frame and I recently found some 2019+ Husqvarna dark blue plastics that would be perfect...

And last but not least hopefully we will be onto the R6 soon. Waiting on hardware to come in so I can get the engine mounted. I need to pick up some stands for this thing here real soon as well.

Forks stripped down. Brought the uppers across the shop to cerakote to get done in burnt bronze. AER cartidges and lugs will be here tomorrow. That will drop a few lbs. Ill throw them back together and ship them off to Kreft to have them work their magic.

here are some weights. My old FMF silencer

s1200_20220201_182104.jpg

and the Scalvini. Little bummed on this one because the Ti2 would have been half a pound lighter.

And here is the Keihin

You have a CNC mill, I bet you can take a quarter pound out of that carb. I see a lot of extraneous metal.

lol machinging my own housing for it has crossed my mind but I don't have the time currently. Maybe down the road if I get super ambitious haha
I wouldn’t go that far, just take some off the flanges and corners. I don’t know what internal passages look like, but the big square block on the bottom is just begging to have some speed pockets cut in it.

Waiting on some parts before I have a 150 update.

A lot has happened with the pistols. They are running amazing finally. Waiting to get some input from an actual firearm engineer and then hopefully we can get production rolling.

Here is my Pistol, 22, and my new AR all together. The AR is a 350 legend. Need to file a tax stamp to SBR it and then I am gonna make a 11" 350 barrel. Have a suppressor coming for it. The ruger 10/22 is in a P90 close stock and it is literally my favorite thing of all time to shoot. We have put prob a thousand rounds thru it in the last 2 weeks just plinking around. I have a suppressor coming for it as well. I really want to do a 12" barrel on it but these tax stamps add up fast so I might have to wait. Hard to put $400 in tax stamps on a little 22 that cost less then $300 originally. Granted Im ready to upgrade a bunch of stuff on it because its so much fun. I guess if it gets used and we enjoy it who cares how much you spend on it.

20220218_153830.jpg

Glock frames are getting close. We are looking at quite a few different options for whats next. Keep you eyes out for some Sig P320 stuff here soon. Possibilty of 365 to follow mabye. Lots of other stuff in the talks too. Well I should correct that, lots of thoughts in my head and me talking to myself  Sometimes it makes out some wild ideas, I am a little bias tho....

Nice wheels, the whole asdsembly.
Thanks!

Its slowly coming together. it was in the 60s saturday and it gave me a ton of motivation. Although its back down to the 20s and snowing so that wrecked some of it. Well I was motivated I made some good progress saturday.

You can also peep my wifes new daily we picked up last weekend. First time we ever bought a brand new car. Actually I should clarify, first time my wife bought a new car because she paid for every cent of it, signed for it herself, put down a pretty large downpayment all on her own. Shes much better with her money then me :ROFLMAO:. Pretty weird because we both thought we would never do that but due to the market it really made sense. Also us both getting pretty large wage increases last year helped that. its a 2022 Volkswagen Taos SEL AWD. She literally got every option available and it is PIMP! I never thought my GTI felt old till now being in the Taos. Everything is automatic - Headlights, cruise, wipers, lane assist. Panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, Air conditioning in the seats. Can even control the car from an app on my phone. Wild how much more "futuristic" it feels then my GTI which was still being made last year. Most of those options I could get in my car but I like the "poverty spec" no extra electronics to get in the way, no sunroof to save weight. Although I do really wish I had apple car play and a heated steering wheel. atleast I can retrofit both of those into my car... hint hint at what might be next for my car :ROFLMAO:

We are all on this site because we like tools. We have recently gotten some pretty sweet tools yal might enjoy.

First off 2 fresh Hurcos showed up!

tempImageB25B9A.jpg

1 VM20i with a 4th axis that I am setting up for the Billet Glock compatible frames. Waiting on some more sweet tools that I will get into later.

1 VM30i with a 4th axis that will run AR10s.

Most of the ships I have worked at have always bought the cheapest tools available, holders from ebay or used. Nothing more then what got the job done. Which hey when your a small job shop it doesn't alwasys make sense to drop thousands on small parts. One thing I like about doing work at GLFA is I can get all the tools I have dreamed of using. 1 such system is the powRgrip system from Rego Fix. Now Rego Fix is the company that invented the ER collet system decades ago. If you are not a machinist ER collets are probably the most common type of tool holders out there. They do a very good job, but there is always room for improvement. Heat shrink holders have become pretty common but in my opinion this system is superior.

It still uses a basic holder and collet but instead of having a threaded cap, the collet is pushed and seated with a hydraulic press.

tempImageXINfHM.jpg

We got this manual press, it was $3000. They do have an automatic option where you can just press a button but it is about $10,000. This manual system only takes a few seconds still.

tempImagehikF4F.jpg

The black block where all the magic happens has a little pin you pull and the whole box will rotate 180 degrees and thats how you switch between removing and installing tools.

tempImageUCLm6x.jpg

The system has the holding force up to 1,100nm, runout is less then 0.0001" and its good for over 20,000 cycles. that is you can put tools in and out over 20,000 times where as heat shrink holders can only get heated up and cooled down so many times before the holder needs to be replaced. Overall this system not only is easy to use but we have seem some pretty big changes in finishes and tool life using this system. Not cheap by any means but when I finally have a mill of my own I think I would find a way to sneak one of these in the budget.

Another trick piece of tooling I got coming in is a pair of orange vises. One is a standard dual station.

Screen Shot 2022-04-05 at 8.42.56 AM.png

The other one is a base of there vise and then a aluminum pallet that fits on it. It locates with dowels but gets tightened down just like a regular vise. So it makes it very easy for an operator to swap out pallets.

Screen Shot 2022-04-05 at 8.43.12 AM.png

I have these 2 coming but to try out but I think we will be replacing a lot of machines with this setup. For example this is the fixture setup for our mill that makes Gas Blocks. Good luck trying to figure out whats going on. I can not stand this setup and have been greatly looking forward to the day I get to tear it down lol

There is 4 ops, 4 parts in each op. So 16 parts in the machine at a time and every 22 minutes when its done you get 4 finished parts.

tempImageZBWCgy.jpg

My layout with the vise pallets would look something like this.

Screen Shot 2022-04-05 at 8.50.00 AM.png

Now we are at 20 parts per op, 80 parts in the machine at once and with some rough programming so far and changing out tools I think I can have 20 parts every hour if not less. Not only is that almost double the parts in an hour but the machine will be loaded in a minute. Right now it take 5-10 minutes to load the machine where as with this setup there would be 2 sets of pallets. Well the machine is running you load up the other set of pallets, so when the machine is done you loosen the vise, pull out the pallets and swap in the new ones. Should take less than a minute. So for about $5000 after vises and tooling the productivity of this machine will at-least triple.

This is the kinda of stuff I find a lot of fun lol. Take something and see how much you can improve it without really changing that much. I mean this is a 30 year old mill, swapping out only some vises and a couple tools will end up making a massive difference. Before they were looking at spending $70k on a new machine and running these on a tombstone in a 4th axis. It would hold the same amount of parts as this but the loading time would take so much longer.

Anyways enough of me ranting, I will have some 2 wheel progress tonight or tomorrow!

It doesnt look much different then the previous pics but everything is actually all bolted up now. Was still missing a lot of small parts.

I decided to do something a little different for the forks. I did get the AER air cartidge installed in the left leg but I decided to keep 1 ohlins cartidge in the right leg. I know this is what coppersmith does, I talked to them about my idea of making my own kit and having him revalve this cartidge for me. They told me no. The smart person would just sell it all and buy the coppersmith kit, im not a smart person though. I don't like hearing no. I decided I am gonna do it anyways haha. We will see how it goes. I like to experiment when it comes to suspension, I have modified pretty much all my mtb forks in the past. I have designed and made my own airsprings before and would like to do the same for the AER cartridge. I think moving to a 3 chamber setup could possibly improve performance but I think that is a project for a later time. I want to just ride for now.

s1200_IMG_0212.jpg

Got the the factory carbon chain guide in, had to grind the swing arm for it to fit. Also got my P3 carbon mud flap in. All the carbon just looks soooo good. Ignore the sprocket, It will get replaced with a carbon one once I pick what gearing I want to go with.

s1200_IMG_0211.jpg

I had to modifiy the scalvini bracket for the 19+ silencer to fit with the 16-19 pipe. Looks pretty good though I think, I will end up getting a 19+ pipe eventually. Just waiting to pick one up in Ti.

s1200_IMG_0224.jpg

Here is a few more phone pics of the full bike. They didn't come out that good. I need to get the nice camera out and get some good pics once its wrapped up. Waiting on a few more small parts but hoping to get the first ride in on it this weekend.

The first ride of the 150 did not go so well.

It was raining out, a few miles in the bike died. Wouldn't start. I had to push it about a mile thru the sand to get to a 2 track. A buddy went back to his truck and got a tow strap and had to get pulled about 5 miles out in the pouring rain and about 40 degrees out. Was not the most pleasureably experience. The good news is I put a new plug in a it started first kick the next day. I am still getting the smart carb tuned and I think I had it too rich and foweled the plug. Rode quite a bit sunday and had no issues.

Spent most of the day working on my home trail at my In laws house. I am going to get a gopro vid of it here this week but so far its very fun. Most of it is pretty tight techy stuff, some logs, creek crossings, techy hill climb but some flow too. Its all packed together pretty tight just trying to use the space I got. But I am having a blast with it, much more fun then the state trails that are closest to me.

Just so excited to get some throttle therapy in. Feels so damn good to be back on the bike, especially after working like crazy for the last few months.

Graphics should be here next week

SKDA_Proof Image-2.jpg

and I also have a Two Stroke Peformance high comp billet head coming in

tsp-cnc-head-150.jpg

As far as work goes I have been slammed. I will have some exciting updates later this week but for now check out this tool ****. I will never buy another vise that is not from Orange. The quality on their stuff is top notch. Need to get one of their bench vises to match now.

Currently been working on some pegs for the 150

s1200_IMG_0344.jpg

That was first 3d printed model to get some overall dimensions check.

This is where we are currently at now. Printer is running currently on latest proto. Final one will be 3d printed out of 17-4PH1 Stainless. Possibly machine one out of titanium but I think I can get just as good weight with the 17-4 3d printed as I could a 6AL-4V TI billet one.

So you have access to a 3d printer that can do stainless?

JB
I dont personally but there are companies you can send your cad too and they can print them out of metal. But I might have access to a metal 3d printer here soon.

Few more tweaks but its getting close

s1200_IMG_0350.jpg

new fuel line and added some P3 frame guards

Finally got some graphics on

s1200_IMG_0362_Copy.jpg

s1200_IMG_0364_Copy.jpg

s1200_IMG_0360.jpg

I did some heat tape on the airbox, Im sure it literally makes no difference but had some laying around and thought it would be cool well I had the airbox off anyways.

s1200_IMG_0366.jpg

I also went from a 3.9kg spring out back to a 4.5kg and just doing a few laps around the house it feels much better. Added more air to the forks to match and the bike just feels more nimble now. Need to get some other trails this weekend and see but I am pretty sure I will be very happy with it.

Few weeks ago we got the Fadal delivered.
It hasn't been hooked up yet. A few possible issues where we got it put but hopefully everything gets resolved and we can get it up and running.

E9245AB0-EB04-4AB2-8A70-AFC2331D10AF-2.jpg

Picked up this old beauty from a buddy. Might give her a little love and a semi restoration so she can keep going for another 80 years.

IMG_0510.jpg

Also picked up a little pitbike. Its an older thumper chassis with a brand new SSR 125 motor in it. For $500 its a riot. Have had to replace a few things on it. Need to get a second set of wheels so we can run dirt tires on it.

IMG_0518.jpg

Put a trick new TSP Billet head on the 150. Definitely made an improvement from down low till when its screaming.

IMG_0520.jpg

Heres a few clips from ripping around the home trail some more

Then I went out to a track day with some buddies to watch them, here is one of them ripping.

286607281_5350684268330058_8608416288376912539_n.jpg

It motivated me to get a working bike so I can join them for the next one. So I decided to sell all my R6 parts and buy an rc390. Now the smart person would just buy a working bike. I even said thats what I am going to, then 3 hours later I found a motor and bought it :headscrat

Then I found this duke, Im picking it up for $500 without the motor, fairings, lights and a few other things. Basically eveything I need to slap that motor into and then put on some track fairings and a few other things.

D7931731-84C8-41AF-81C1-AE1BC6EF982F.jpeg

So here I go onto another project :ROFLMAO:

havent got a date when the bike will ship, hoping today or tomorrow so it can hopefully be here before end of the week. Motor is shipping out today so should be here soon.

I have a lot of mods already running thru my head but mai priority is to get it running FIRST. Very tempted to tear it rest of the way down when it first comes in and spray the frame white and wheels black. I plan on doing a matching color scheme to my 150 as I very much like when my stuff is matchy matchy :ROFLMAO:

I did get fairings ordered

IMG_0024.jpg

I got fairings ordered first as they have the longest shipping time. I also need to get an exhaust. they are the 2 big things I need for sure. There will be some other small stuff for sure.

I will also admit that I really really want to toss a 2 stroke motor in this guy. Its a build me and a buddy have talked about quite a bit. these 390s only make 44hp and are sub 300lbs in track trim. A 150 2 stoke would make the same power but prob drop a good chuck of weight. Even better would be a 250 or 300 2 stroke. 60hp and possibly sub 250lbs would be a riot. My buddy even found a 300sx motor for me last week :ROFLMAO:

For now I need to learn how to ride this thing and then maybe when I blow this motor up (which seems extremely common for these bikes) or when I decide I need a fun winter project we can make this guy into a smoker.

Well everything cant always be sunshine and roses.

My dog hasn't been eating much for last month or so and throwing up regularly. Otherwise she was acting normal, until this week she started to go downhill. We took her into the vet and they did some bloodwork and didn't seem that concerned. It took almost 2 days to get bloodwork back, which came back normal but she had gotten much worse. Would barely move and hadn't eaten in 4 days. I got her back into the vet and X rays revealed she had a rope toy lodged in her intestines.

She went into emergency surgery friday night. I got a call from the vet after and he said they were able to remove it but it wasn't all positive. Parts of her small intestine had adhesion and would forever mean we have to be careful with what she eats and chews on. On top of that a large section of her large intestine was so red and inflamed they couldn't even touch it without it most likely perforating. Basically he said to remain positive that she can recover but not to get our hopes up as the condition is quite bad.

I needed to transfer her to an animal hospital to be watched overnight.
Here she is on the way over

tempImageSB2IYE.jpg

Man I have always liked dogs, we had a couple growing up, but until I got a dog that was MY dog I didn't realize how much you could love them. It sounds horrible to say but I use to think why would you spend thousands on an animal for surgery. Well once your in that position your opinion sure does change!

That was a hard drive across town to get her to the animal hospital, My eyes definitely weren't dry.
Thankfully she made it through the night and seemed to be doing well. She ate some food and we were able to bring her home. so far she is doing good but excited for the next couple weeks to be over with so shes back to almost 100%

Here is the Fadal and where we got in moved a few weeks back

tempImageyORhPT.jpg

and onto the bad news. My inlaws own the building and promised us we could have a 1000sqft to rent. This week they told us they are now renting the whole building to someone else. At first they said they would see if we could still get this corner but now they said we can try to contact the new renters ourselves and figure it out :dunno:

Dont worry the bad news isnt over.
The duke I bought was originally suppose to come friday. I was told the shipper would pick it up thursday morning. Thursday night rolls around and I have heard nothing. So I text the seller and ask if it was picked up and I got no response. Friday night I finally get a response saying it was picked up in the afternoon friday and I would have it to me by 7pm on saturday. Frustrating because I told him I was having it delivered to my work and I am not there on saturday but I asked if he could pass on the shippers info so I could find out when he would arrive and meet him there. He said sure thing I will send it over.

Saturday morning rolls around and he never sent the shippers info. So I ask again, no response. 7pm saturday rolls by and I have heard nothing. There were people at the shop all day as well and they said no one ever came. I message him again asking whats up and if he knows anything or if he could just get me the shippers info. No response. Now today (sunday) I randomly get an email from paypal saying I have been refunded. Now I don't care if the bike doesn't come for 2 weeks I just want to be left in communication so I know whats up. I message the guy again asking if something happened? You guessed it, no response. Now I ordered some other parts from this guys and everything else arrived and am very happy with it all. Im just kinda pissed off because I started ordering a bunch of stuff for this bike and have $2k in parts for it. I guess thats really on me for jumping the gun.

With the dog surgery too I don't have the money to go find another bike so for the time being I guess the rc390 build is on pause.
Keeping my eye out for a good deal on a chassis/frame and other parts for it still.

Oh and I figured out with a 300 2 stroke motor I could get the bike to sub 210lbs for sure. A guy has his track built 390 down to 246lbs, a 300sx motor is 35lbs lighter then a 390 engine. Ontop of that a decent amount of weight would be shed from smaller wire harness, fuel pumps and some other extra stuff.

These rc390 Cup bike factory rearsets came in too. They are pretty nice, now to have a bike for them lol

Holy cow that stinks, do they know how it happened and was it insured by chance? I'm sorry for the loss, but as you said no one was hurt and that is a huge relief after looking at the aftermath.

JB
My in laws purchased this building a few months ago and it was undergoing renovation. They just put a new roof on the whole building last week. From what I have heard so far is that builders inside were cutting out a wall. They hit a wire, it sparked, and the insulation lit up and the whole building was in flames in minutes. I was a block away at the gun shop we all walked outside and the whole sky was black. the firefighters weren't there yet. It is amazing no one was hurt. The building was filled with thousands of apple crates as well but the last of them were removed last week. If they were still in there I can't imagine how much worse it would have been. Firefighters from 5 different towns were there and did an awesome job of keeping it from spreading to the houses next to it.

IMG_0762.jpg

The bad news is we did not have insurance on it, we were going to have it moved out in a couple weeks and as of right now it is not looking like the insurance they had on the building will cover it. Keeping fingers crossed and positive thoughts hoping something might work out.

on to some good news. here is a sneak peak at my new project

Hopefully the new bike will help to dull the pain, it is unfortunate but that is part of life sometimes, I wish you the best in dealing with the insurance companies.

Thanks guys I appreciate it, last month definitely hasn't been the best. I forgot to update on my dog but we had to put her down. She was recovering very well for the first few days and seemed to be herself then one morning it just went downhill. The only loving choice was to end her pain. that was a tough decision, she was going to turn 4 this month. Will be missing her forever. RIP Kiwi

Thats life, it has its up and downs. Stay positive and things will get better.

Got 60 miles of throttle therapy in over the weekend. Bike was looking fresh before hand

IMG_0747.jpg

I got my other frame cerakoted white and stripped my bike down after to swap to the new frame. Got everything on and the engine didn't fit. Was pretty upset but its my fault so can't be mad at anyone but myself. Since the old frame is stripped down I will put some fresh paint on it then throw it back together. The other frame will be used for the new retro restyle 300 build.

I also have been collecting more tools for the shop. Got a handful of stuff from a buddy but my favorite is the new to me Wilton! Time to clean it up so its ready to rock for another 70 years

To keep things positive here is my new AR10. I designed these and this is the very first one, serial # 1!
I need to make some tweaks but it shoots great so far. I have a upper receiver I designed that matches but it will be about 6 months before we get those rolling. Waiting on a Okuma Horizontal mill to come in for them.

Although I am not a big gun guy. It feels pretty awesome to shoot a gun knowing I designed it and machined it 100% myself. Can't wait to get these into production. The pistols are still in progress but kinda delayed a little. Want to make sure they are aboslutely perfect. They are a much more finicky gun to get right compared to an AR.

As far as the new bike goes. The plan is a 300 2 stroke. All modern chassis/engine/suspension but a retro look. Its an idea I have been thinking about for a bit and then this past week someone else just enveiled the same idea. I think it looks absolutely amazing.

I don't want to look like I directly copied them though. My original plan was that same color scheme to match KTM in the 80s but I think now I am going to go the route of the old huskys. This is pretty much exactly what I am thinking.

Got to break in the AR10 this weekend. It's a riot!

Still making some small tweaks and adjustments to the overall design/finish but it functions great! I will go into some of the machining and processes behind it in a post later this week.

Here is my new 350 Legend AR Pistol. It was my summer bonus lol

adding those to the collection here is a full group shot now

I am running the first small batch of AR10s right now. This was a fun job to setup and try to improv over how they are doing their AR15s.
Basically I have been saying that they should do AR10s since I started doing work here, I was always told no we will never do it. Then one day well I was way deep in the pistols they decided to do AR10s randomly. I could tell the pistols were still a ways out but I knew AR10s would be an easy thing to do.
They did not want me to do it because I had so much to do with the pistols. I tried to convince them to pause the pistols for a month, lets get AR10s going then get back to pistols. That was a no, so we said hey lets just wait till the pistols are done then we will do AR10s. One project at a time. A week later they tell me we are doing AR10s but they are going to have another guy come and manage that project and handle everything. This is an very experienced older machinist who works for one of the owners other companies. He has set up a lot of the machines here before I started.
I knew it was going to end with me doing most of the work though. Right away I had to do all the CAD work and design it. Then they wanted me to setup and program for the first 2 ops. They wanted to do this the same way they do the 15s. One machine does the first 2 ops so that it comes out with a basic shape and profile and then into another machine with a 4th axis to be finished.
No biggie that is really not much work at all.

This is how they look coming out of the first machine after OP1 and OP2

We ended up waiting quite awhile on the other guy to finish his fixtures for the other machine. No fault to him either he has so much other stuff going on I don't blame him. It came the point where he couldn't program it so it fell on me. I got no problem with that I wanted to do it really I just wish they way we went about it to get that point was different. I think his fixture is very nice, its pretty much identical to the AR15 ones they have in other machines, just a little bigger. But if I was to have done all this myself I would have done everything quite a bit different. We could have made the parts complete in one machine on the 4th axis with some slight changes. Oh well no biggie. I get paid to do things how the bosses want.

This was how the fixture looked when I first got it.

Few issues I hit right off the bat. First is the hole for the Buffer tube spring detent needs to be at 6 degrees and there was not as easy way to do that. My initial thoughts were to try to reach thru the magwell on the left side. Kinda like this.

It was definitely do able and honestly I kinda wanted to do it cuz its pretty sweet. But I would need such a long drill and clearances were very very tight. Also no way to put a flat in there for the drill, it was all just to much. I really did not want to mod the fixture at all which is why I wanted to make this work. The much easier option was to just mod the fixture, as I continued on I ended up making quite a few mods anyways.

I tilted the pads on the front side that 6 degrees. There was some toolpaths I was doing on this front side I could move the back, I was also able to easily put a flat in there now for the drill making everything easier.

You can see the modifed one on the right and unmodified on the left.

You can also see I swapped out the bolt clamps for destaco clamps. This was another small grip I had with this fixture. I don't like the bolt clamps because different operators tighten things differently and it has caused consistency issues in the past. The destaco clamps fix that and also make loading/unloading so much faster and easier.

I figured out I can get destaco clamps on a the parts. I have not gotten that far yet but it is the plan.

Another goal I wanted to do was to reduce as many external operations as possible. The less times the parts needs to be handled the better. The first one was finishing the magwell in the machine. We have broached mawells in the mills before but that is pretty tough on them. I decided to drill out the corners and then do a finish pass with a smaller endmill. It comes out with great fitment and has no downsides. Unless you don't like the corners now but you really never see them and they don't function any different then square corners. At the price point this gun will be sold for it is really not something you can complain about it my oppinion. Maybe if it was a $3k gun I would say it should be broached but it really makes no difference.

IMG_0869.jpg

Lastly was the pin hold for the bolt catch. Right now it gets done in a drill press after final machining.

IMG_0867.jpg

This is because it is so long and a small diameter it will wander very easily. You really need a guide block to do it, like the fixture we have here on this drill press.

IMG_0868.jpg

The way the fixture is setup I was able to use it as a guide block. I drilled a hole thru the fixture. It startes out a little bigger with a larger chamfer to guide to the drill in. Another thing you have to do in your programming is drop the drill into the guide block before turning the sprindle on. If you don't do this the drill will flex and then snap. So you drop it in, start the spindle, drill the hole. Then you pull it out of the hole but not the guide block and stop the spindle before pulling it all the way out.

So far its running good. Making small tweaks and stuff here and there but running the first small run of 20ish. really happy with how they are coming out, even adding external processes in I still was able to reduce the run time from what our AR15s are. In my opinion that is a major win.
