Looks like a fun place to hang out! Favorites so far...Blackhawk Island, and Alemite Central

Yea, those are the best places that I have aside from advertising and soda vending. My hangout is certainly not like the heavy hitters here but it is a great place designed just for me. :) I am humbled that anyone finds interest in my junk.

Next up is my tired late 40s/early 50s Snap-On roller. This houses my oldest Snap-on stuff starting from 1920 and up to the 1940s. I keep my well used body shop tools in here along with a variety of other things that I use often. It's far less exciting than Blackhawk island but still cool.

Moving right along to the last stop on the tour, we have my very useful Snap-On roller. I keep the barely used stuff in here including Proto sets that are NOS, screw drivers, etc. There is a MAC impact set in there too that sees very little use.

I've popped a picture of a nearby metal cabinet that holds all of my car wash gear along with a few grinders. It's also where I keep my glass oil bottles to minimize the chances of them breaking.

This concludes the tour but if you want more detailed accounts of things you've seen, I've attached links to many of them below. Thank you for spending your time browsing my garage load of junk.

Thanks for the tour. Liked the Penzoli sign. Saw a good one yesterday. Did you make it to Frederick for the auction and flea market? Lot of signs and auto related goodies.

I've gone to the show at the Frederick fairgrounds for years. Unfortunately, everything there is always at least double the retail value. It's fun to look around though. Every so often I will find one small thing that isn't priced like it's made of gold.

So what's the story with the Coke machine? Is it all original? Where did you find it?

The coke machine is 100% original and works perfectly. It's the early mechanical version of the Vendo 83, made in October of 1950. When the coin hits the mech, it locks a gear and when you pull up on the vending lid, it spins a drum inside and a nice ice cold coke appears. You'll also hear the pleasing sound of the coin dropping into the metal coin catch when you do this.

It came from a small country store in Northern Virginia. A very old lady called a friend of mine who specializes in historic architecture. She needed repair work done on a centuries old home. When he got to the job, she showed him a room full of stuff from a country store that she ran with her husband. The machine was in that room where it sat dormant since they closed the store and retired.

Ever the self-deprecator down there, Sonny. It's a marvelous place. I'm jealous of all the advertising and I love the way you've integrated the users with the collectibles, or vicey versey. Nice place to get things done or just hang out looking at the reminders of the history of getting things done.

That was the intent with this layout. To feel as if you're standing in days gone by but also a 100% functional garage. I don't have the setup I need for a 100% museum environment. Yet. :)

Very cool. I have a Pepsi machine circa 1959 in pretty nice shape though, like a lot of older machines, it doesn't cool properly at the moment. Wouldn't mind adding a Coke machine to the stable as well.

That's what's appreciably neat about you, JoCo, and Beemer taking my challenge and throwing your doors open, so to speak. Each place has its own personality, some of it by design, some of it by circumstance. I have a sizable garage, but the basement of the original house just felt right for me and my stuff. Don's separate 'party garage' works for him and his situation. But if everyone's place was 100% museum environment, it would be boring!

You can buy modern cooling systems from places that make repop parts for old machines. I'm sure you know this already. If/when the original cooling system gives up the ghost on my Vendo83, that's going to be my play.

Nobody wanted these full size V83s up until about 5 or 6 years ago. Once the smaller ones started running in the several thousand dollar range, the days of 200 dollar Vendo83 machines came to a quick end.

Thanks for the tour horse, very enjoyable! I love a working shop that's full of history. I need to get around to finishing up my tour one of these days.
