D, thanks for sharing your ride. I saw on your thread where you mentioned it and posted pictures recently. Congrats on your recent trophy.
I cant wait to get in my shop so that I have room to work. I have so many projects lined up for both of them. I love to drive my cars and for that reason, neither of them are what I consider show worthy. They are both great drivers and the Corvette is probably the most show worthy. But I bought it at driver price and not a show car price, so it has areas that need some attention. That being said, the corvette needs a lot of work. Well, not mechanically speaking, but it needs a new interior in a bad way. The carpets are worn through in so many places. All of the carpet pieces in the luggage area are either missing or barely hanging on. I am also going to start tackling the vacuum lines. My headlights are really slow moving and the wiper tray doesnt move. I have a lot of the parts to redo it, I just have been waiting for the time and space to do so.
Found some of the Vette Photos:

Those are all from the day we picked it up.
The Mustang is my pride and joy. I have had that car since I was a senior in high school. We bought it in the summer of 1994 and it has been through many weekend projects since then. It is a really solid car. Unfortunately, it sat for about 8 years when life got in the way. At my first house, I really didnt make time or space for it so it sat in my parents garage. During that 8 years, I had an older coworker that loved working on old cars. He had many cars and his sons had cars and they had finished a project and asked me if I wanted him to work on the Mustang. He said I could just pay him as we went and he would work on the car when he could. Originally, he was going to do some minor work and then do the body work. He had the car for a couple of years, and completed quite a bit of small projects, but he got sick and died while he had my car apart. So then I had to wait for one of his sons to put it back together and I went to go get it. They would not accept any payment from me so I got the car back and it sat for a little while longer. At that point, it was both better and worse than when he picked it up. He had completed a disc brake swap, but not had a chance to finish everything. Then I was keeping it a another friends shop and a tornado hit the shop. The car was fine, but I lost some of the parts that I was keeping there. Thats when I made room for it at my new house. I vowed to work on it myself under my own roof. Well, then, I started work on it. I replaced the suspension, did the shelby drop, new gas tank and fuel lines, new radiator, water pump, carb. And then I snapped off a carb stud and a water pump bolt. And it sat some more. A buddy of mine opened up a new shop and I decided that I had the money and not the time to finish my list of projects and I took it to him. He had it running within a couple of months and also did a rack and pinion swap on it and I have had it running and driving for the past 5 years. We updated the motor a little and its a really good driver. I swear to never let a car sit for that long again. At this point, the only thing left is paint and body. To be honest, I think I like it the way it is right now. I dont have to worry about scratching the paint or door dings or rock chips.
