I have T5HO strips hanging over my workbench about 7 ft off the floor, with "cool white" 4000K bulbs in them and while they are bright, I like them. If you had lights with reflectors, it probably would be too much that low.
Phillips only makes T5HO in 3000K, 3500K and 4100K.
OTHER Phillips literature states that 5000K and 6500K is being added to the line.
Phillips also now has a new energy saving T5HO called the Phillips Energy Advantage that is 49 watts as opposed to the regular 54 watt. Phillips also has an extreme temperature 54w bulb that has a much broader operating range of temperature at which it will produce 100% or near 100% light output.
Sylvania makes them in 3000K, 3500K, 4100K, 5000K, and 6500K
THREAD from September about the Lithonia T5HO 8 ft open strips that use 4ea of the 4 ft T5HO bulbs in tandem.
