Fantastic as always, the atelier is looking great. I shall be using your pictures for inspiration as I need to repair/relay my very similar old cobbled drive outside my house here (house dates back in part to 1630) and your yard gives me lots of ideas.

Thanks for your kind words, here's the rest of the story of the drill-place:

Remembering that I had somewhere two beautiful supports, fused with silver hammered finishing, ve coupled them to a suitable measure metal shelf obtaining an above-drill-shelf practical and elegant..

Complete the drill-station a wooden panel with a practical drill-bits container made from an old.. aluminum rabbits feeder!

The shelving for small parts instead has quickly found a place on another pillar near the main entrance ..

The modernization of the electrical system goes straight for the way he has undertaken of which we have some more detailed slide. Here's the underoof lamps..

normal_DSCF4246.JPG

normal_DSCF4224.JPG

And here .. the four fluorescent tubes that complement underoof lamps with a nice light-cut perpendicular to the door. also in this this case.. difficult to do less: 50 years-old hand-made lamps consists of a galvanized sheet metal bent and white-painted on the inner face with the electrical components directly screwed on it: Bzz.. Bzz .. ZOT!

normal_DSCF4222.JPG

normal_DSCF4225.JPG

Here the two rotary-switches "ILME" that turn on each one a pair of roof lamps..

normal_DSCF4254.JPG

And here the d'antàn main switchboard: the two small blacks switches "Ticino" on the top left of the panel light fluorescent tubes in pairs... The red light in the center above the general indicates that there is tension as the two big brown switches dissect the right- bank and the left one separately to facilitate any maintenance..

While in the yard pile up parts, memorabilia and unfinished works (such as the iron gate ..) behind the door of the "energy room" leaning next to the garage, the re-wired electrical system allows the compressor to operate without the intervention of the 3-phases diesel Ducati generator..

Hi

This will be my very first post on the forum, but I had to do it here.
What an amazing and inspirational work, Luca. I had a great time going through the pages of your thread and will continue to accompany your endeavours.

Best wishes for you and your family and a great 2014.

2014 must be the year of the rationalization of spaces and equipment of Citrogarage: a large amount of metal shelves is fortunately available for this purpose. A better use of space will give preference to the vertical dimension as opposed to the previous two-dimensional model "all scattered on the floor": a massive metal shelving stands on the head wall from two sturdy wooden shelves that set to about two meters in height and 25 cm for lean on a 2 meters high "doubling" wall of the infill of the porch that was built at a time when it served as a stable. The stability of the structure is provided by a multitude of plugs in the brick pillars and coupling the rafters..

Several climbings and boltings after, shelving start to be populated..

The new shelves rack was followed by the reorganization of the bench-west and of the above shelves, the operation is marked by the same rationalism: goodbye to the colorful jars of screws and bolts that makes so "Italian". welcome to a system of practical small-holder plastic containers: the content will be identified by a special cardboard label leaving perfectly clear the counter. In the upper left, the technical library.

The stereophonic Autovox exhibitor-demonstrator moved to the opposite side, surmounted by three beautiful milk fat so that fans "Fonzie's garage." Besides, even for the bench-west the higher floors have remained in the service of decorative tins ..

We must say that Citrogarage was already half-loft from 2008..

normal_giorno.JPG

The second half was not. Primarily because I was sorry to miss the cathedral-effect, than because the large spaces were prepared to accept, sooner or later, one or more car elevators. The electric transformations , the extension of the air system and the general cleaning and reorganization of the spaces are in fact been triggered by the fact that for one of those elevators was finally presented an opportunity ..

The final sweep that cleared the bay No. 2 is preparing the mysterious advent ..

And here he is, red and yellow that you can not look at .. long and wide that you can not photograph .. Voilà the futuristic four-columns elevator that will start to serve restorations and repairs on all types of vehicles, including DS or HY!

normal_DSCF4232.JPG

normal_DSCF4233.JPG

normal_DSCF4228.JPG

After almost thirty years of service in a historic body-repair shop, it is going to be firmly placed in the position that after an endless series of hypotheses defining this one as the most compatible placements with the access roads, the presence of the loft and the provision of a possible second bridge with two columns..

It is a bridge-bank manufactured by Universal Bench incorporating a kind of universal template that consernte to attack those hydraulic equipment with which the true coachbuilders straighten the cars involved in accidents.

normal_DSCF4230.JPG

normal_DSCF4235.JPG

normal_DSCF4231.JPG

In the beginnig I would have preferred a standard deck without all these bank stringers in the middle so that to change an exhaust line you beat eight times the head, but on closer examination-and in the absence of alternatives to equal the price- I considered it's best versatility, especially when I noticed that the platforms on which to run the wheels had already been divided into removable segments (so you can leave in place only those on which the wheels) and that the two large longitudinal beams were also removable, after putting in support of the car body and eventually anchored it on the central bank.

Unfortunately, this one being one meter wide, it is not directly usable to fixate a chassis of 2cv but there is certainly the way of manufacture some woodeno or metal elements that allow to do so.

normal_DSCF4234.JPG

normal_DSCF4236.JPG

In short, the future is full of promises for my new bulky "Christmas Gift"!

Something, in this garage is finally operational, as the main desk, nice and clear now flanked by the side also features a vise:

normal_DSCF4391.JPG

Among the refinements, the drawer door of the electrical adapters. The first of the green containers, as you can imagine from the identification code (MICROSW-2POS/L351100) is intended for cutters..

The tin-door Svitol, contains Svitol:

normal_DSCF4407.JPG

The drill, it remains stubbornly out-of-service pending conversion phase:

normal_DSCF4396.JPG

And 'even started the fixing of the four legs of the lift, three bars diam. 18 per feet. The thickness of the concrete pavement does not exceed 17-18 cm and I do not think incorporating a welded net but I hope otherwise constitutes a proper support..

Alternating cycles of swelling and sweeping preparing the hole chemical anchor bars ..

normal_DSCF4411.JPG

normal_DSCF4383.JPG

normal_DSCF4380.JPG

Although the repainting will be the last step, I've got a folder-color of hammered-tints which I propose to use. It should open the debate on the color that suits most!

:) Clean, tidy, light and spacious facilitate maintenance operations and exceptional works in a more rational and modern Citrogarage ..

normal_DSCF4550.JPG

..while a further shelving is rising on the metal furniture that faces the new elevator:

normal_DSCF4551.JPG

normal_DSCF4589.JPG

To remedy the fact that the center post is lame at the counter, I was reminded nothing better than hanging on the beams of the roof with this kind of network structure..

Meanwhile, the fervor of Reorganization and shelving is spreading to the loft ..

The shelving is already completed, and other enhancements already put in place, the photos are old.. they can not keep up with the creative fervor.

normal_DSCF4593.JPG

The 2CVAzam has completed the maintenance and will be replaced by Roxie's yellow 2cv needing some body works.

;) Meanwhile my friend Bulè continues its project for a racing car that will look something like this:

From the first days of 2014, several developments have occurred, at 01/21 I took opportunity to update subtracting a bit 'of time to work in the happy day of my birthday. Here I recieve compliments from my citroinfants..

normal_papa_luca.jpg

It's completed and partially occupied the great shelving in front of the elevator (not yet active). One shelf is home to temporarily files containing almost 1300 "Type A" surveyed the Italian Citroen Car Historical Register (riasc.it). It seems to me a temporery suitable place..

Hangied between memorabilia, what I believe was the first calendar offered to members of the Italian 2CV Club in 1997, six years after its founding. On the cover an italian 2CV that is a long time living in the United States...

normal_DSCF4670.JPG

Store material goatskin six meters of height can be staggering and dangerous.. a series of glorious helmets is aligned on the highest shelf, ready to be worn:

Nice lights, but I'm really loving that roof. We don't do it that way over here, but it looks like it has spent a lifetime to prove that it works. Love it!

Awesome Lift! From the colors you have in the Citrogarage right now, MT04 is the only one that will not stand out and be totally out of place. But that is just my thought...

Awesome Updates, Luca. Thanks for posting! And, a belated Happy Birthday!

I'd paint it MT03 and then paint your diagonal white safety stripes to a height of 1.5 meters - alternating the stripes direction on each side so as to make them appear as arrows when viewed perpendicular to the edge. This would keep with a theme you have done in other narrow areas. Viewing all four sides at once the stripe would look thus, /\/\ Otherwise, MT06, as it would blend in quite well.

Great to see the updates, Luca !!!! I was thinking maybe the "safety" yellow for the lift, since once REALLY needs to be safe, using one !!

Metal shelves look GOOD, too, great use of vertical SPACE !!!
