Andy, nice touch with the QST e-mail address.

The casting looks great Andy.
Andy, that is some nice work with the emblem. I also enjoyed the video on making the emblem. Thanks for posting.
Well, that's one of us.
Try to tell my son that. He's afraid he'll catch some kind of disability, like not being able to leave an inviting statement alone.
Maybe he already has that.
Glad you like it. They had to be big enough to cast and see the lettering. About 1/2" thick and 6" long. They are actually 12 mm thick.
I poured another one this morning to test pattern modifications. This one pulled better but still had some sand damage so I made some more refinements.

Looks great Andy. Steve would be proud.
Wow, more great casting work. Fun to see this happening.
Email sent and donation made to Goulburn Valley Hospice Care.
Ouch ow ow. My head 26 minutes of arithmetic. You are making my head hurt.![]()
Great video even with all the math. It's amazing what can be figured out with just a few numbers.
Glen.
Hi Andy,Thank you! I'm surprised I only have six orders. If anyone wants one, no charge, email me your name and address to
[email protected]
That goes for international orders too.
It is a lot of fun. You just need to start.
Thank you!
Thank you! I thought the video was a bit boring (and I didn't even drill anything)
And that's all there is to it huh
My mind shuts off about 1/2 way through a simple project like that one

You had me at match plate Andy! Signs of things getting serious in the workshop. Serious quality shed time.
Cast badges look great.
If it helps, I believe you can get object volume and object surface area calculated in Fusion360 and add them in as a workspace template so you have them for all your 3D print designs. Not that I mind breaking out the piece of paper and pencil every now and then. Good to have a little mental lubricant every now and then.

Hi Andy,
Well, I would love one but I don't think it's fair to you to bear all the costs...just me maybe but , at the end of the day you are the backbone of provision for anything "we" donate to the hospice ? Can I maybe pay ( at a minimum) your costs, then also donate to the hospice ?
Kind regards,
Greg
Wow Andy!

I feel the same way. But it's fun to read. As they said in "The Natural", Is this the best link for a donation:

Andy, I wanted to make a donation to honor Stephen but wasn't crazy about mailing a check. A more modern way is to go to Xoom (a subsidiary of Paypal), select Australia and login from there to your Paypal account. Here's a link to get you there:
https://www.xoom.com/australia/send-money
There is a $4.99 transaction fee but that's probably cheaper than what my bank would charge for a money order in Australian currency.
Once you decide how much to send, you'll need the following information:
Bank: ANZ Bank
Account Name: Goulburn Valley Hospice Care Service
BSB: 013 805
Account Number: 4976 37858
First Name: Administrator
Last Name: Goulburn Valley Hospice Care Service
Street: 102 Balaclava Road
Town: Shepparton
State: Victoria
Post Code: 3630

I will let you know if this works or is an epic fail and I've sent another donation to my Nigerian Prince.

I feel the same way. But it's fun to read. As they said in "The Natural",
Coach Red Blow : Pretty good food, huh?
Roy Hobbs : Damn good.
Coach Red Blow : You can't spell it, but it eats pretty good, don't it?
Great question.
If you have the need.

As I posted on the youtube video, you did a fantastic explaining the Chvorinov principle(?) I was a math major in college and now that I'm a little older I felt like Bob Heine said after watching it. You made it look pretty simple, for a tedious situation. Thanks!

Ditto Don. My little hamster is still dizzy.

Great info...hope it works.
Thanks Bob, that looks like a good option.
Alternatively, if you'd prefer to save the $4.99 fee (or pass it in to the Hospice), you could PayPal the money to me (or likely any other willing Australian here) and I can do the bank transfer.
PM me if there's any interest in doing it that way.
Andy is a perfectly made emblem.![]()
Quite a production line. This looks fantastic!!
Well done.
Guess you need to go pound more sand tomorrow?Yeah, I ran out of sand or could have done five.
Mat (TwoBytes) would be a good option. He is fully trustworthy. I even am forwarding his contact information to my Nigerian Prince.
Andy
I've been busy, and away travelling to inter state branches, and stuff..... But on your thread people are talking about "donations". I can't find the specific post, so please enlighten me, and I'll willingly donate (as a cancer survivor it just tugs at my heart).
Great! My plan is to collect emails of those interested at

I think price should be optional. No reason to limit someone who does not have the funds. After a couple of suggestions Andrew and the Church family suggests donations to Goulburn Valley Hospice Care, in appreciation for the great care they gave to Steve. I agree wholeheartedly. It takes me about an hour to make one so I suggest an hour of your rate of pay but that is just a suggestion.

Funny how little things hamper us.
Looking good of course, regardless.

I may opt for the PayPal option...don't want to put my name on the list until I'm certain a donation will go through.

I also have one of Steve's Ford signs that he cut out. And I'm going to get a framer to put that together with your forging, and Gazza's sign and put that up somewhere. I only met Steve once, but it was a great afternoon. And we had many long conversations on the phone (especially after he was first diagnosed and the treatment meant he was losing his voice, which, with my chemo enhanced deafness, made the calls very interesting).
The only other things I have mounted are signed things from great racing car drivers - Jackie Stewart, Mark Webber, and some Australian Supercar drivers etc, and my Grandfather's war medals and badges (and a pencil drawing of him), but this will be joining them.

Way Down Here.
Thanks for the vote of confidence Andy, and the royal referral!
I've got a couple of PMs from people and I've shared my PayPal details, I'll advise upon successful transaction completion.

Thank you for the work and time Andy!
Thank you for taking time to find and share the payment details Bob!
Thank you for the generous offer to help with transferring money Mat.!
And I have started to look at your videos Andy, I am fascinated and learning things for the future.
Those emblems look outstanding Andy! I am sure that Steve is looking down and smiling..
Wow, excellent details on your part.![]()
