If not mistaken, these wrenches were at one time listed with the correct pictures, but wrong sizes. The whopper 1 1/2" wrench being listed as a 1/2". etc. I wonder if this typo error was used to calculate the shipping charge of $9.99; which would be a reasonable shipping charge for a small ten piece wrench set.. ? I could go out to the shop and weigh ten similar large wrenches, then use the UPS website to determine the shipping charges. I doubt those large wrenches will be going anyplace for that $9.99 shipping charge. So, Sears would have to be eating a large chunk of the shipping costs?
Aside from the $9.99 shipping dream, that leaves $66.00 to process the order, manufacture, and package ten large good quality wrenches. ? At this point, they are not liquidating a warehouse of existing goods to partially recover some funds, but taking orders for new product that would result in a loss from the start.
I certainly agree with the disorganized/incompetent.
Several years ago, I attempted to order three large 3/4" and 1" drive impact socket sets from Sears. Buy online for current sale price, and ship to store of My choice. Their website wanted to ship to a different store, so I e-mailed the concern to customer service several times. The sale ended, I never got a reply from customer service, I wasted chunks of three days trying to place the order with Sears, and finally went to Harbor Freight to purchase the socket sets.
Another time, two bench grinders were purchased, and actually shipped to My requested store.. One ran like a Swiss Watch, the other one shook like a tin lizzie. They were less than half price, so I still ended up with one good grinder for a reasonable price.
An order for a set of 1/2" drive impact sockets with doorstep delivery actually went thru without a glitch.. Not the the box holding the bag of sockets could have held up for much longer, but I was able to cradle it in both hands and get it into the house without dropping any sockets.
With My tidbit of experience in doing online shopping with Sears, My "realistic expectations" are a bit on the low side
I truthfully do not expect Sears to ship those wrenches for $76, So I will sit tight, and think of the $76 as a refundable lottery ticket.
