Most of that stuff was rotten wood that I kept stuff off the floor with, guess it was getting wet often in the cellar. Pet carrier was old, metal post I was using for the garden to hang the netting on, pool stuff that was just sitting in there, and just stuff that just had no purpose. Too far gone lawnmower so I just tossed it.

Those cabinets staying or going....they look nice...

They will be following me to the other house. The goal is to put them in the attached garage. I could just leave everything in the drawers and use the drawers as totes to take everything to the other house, but I want to purge some more stuff. Last night I was tempted to just start tossing it all in the trash and buy anything I will need in the future, but I stopped myself. Some of it will still go. Like the dowel jig, I haven't used it since I bought it from a garage sale. I don't think I will ever need it either. The likely hood that I will need a jig for wood dowel is low enough that I could just make a simple one out of wood for the job when the time comes. Or I could buy another jig for $10-20 on ebay just like it.

So far just the cars models that made the cut has been packed up. I did toss some that didn't mean anything to me. But all of the Muscle Machines cars got packed as I always enjoyed looking at them. I need to clean them, but I'll wait till I get to the other house once I decide where they will get displayed.

A few weeks ago the oldest daughter’s car was throwing some check engine lights on the dash. Some folks call it the money maker lights. So I plugged in my diagnostic tool and got the codes which showed to be a failing oxygen sensors.
IMG_0843.png

So I ordered both oxygen sensors since when one fails, the other will follow suit.

So today she was home and the o2 sensors were in my possession after paying Rockauto $150 for Denso sensors. Only took an hour to replace them. They were in some tight spots so I used the following tools below to get to them both.
IMG_0844.jpeg

Well Cody, how did you use the box end of the wrench on a double offset box end wrench? You see, I unplugged the connector and fished the wire through the box end and was able to turn the sensor with the offset wrench. It’s nice to use the fancy oxygen sensor wrenches and tools, but you can still use just a normal box end wrench if you can get the tool on the sensor!

I know I have held onto things for years that ended up getting tossed or sold only to need within a month of getting rid of said item. Not condoning being a packrat, but for me thats how it always shakes out.
@Xti04, just last week I used a drum brake adjusting spoon to install a new drive belt on the old upright vacuum. I have held that tool over the trash can too many times to count (but not as often as the drum brake multi-function pliers). Looks like it's going to stay for the rest of my life. Of our four cars, only the PT Cruiser has drum brakes in the rear. My search for a reasonably priced used GT rear axle with disk brakes came to nothing so I have an iron clad reason to keep that spoon and pliers.

Maybe that’s enough for one day.
IMG_0791.jpeg
Imagine this big of a pile again but mostly wood trims and more junk that I’ve never really used but kept for some reason.

Before I finished the pile, someone else came along and picked out a bunch of stuff I had in the pile so I didn’t get a photo of how big the pile has gotten.

Slowly but surely I’m letting go of stuff that’s “I never know if I will need it or not”.

Seems someone must of found my wood pile valuable, it was all gone this morning before trash truck even came around.

Does anyone else find satisfaction of knowing others must think their trash was valuable?

Before Thanksgiving Garold the cat was not able to hold his food or water down. After 2 day of throwing up and refusing food I took him to the emergency vet.

So I learned that the emergency vet is just out of the question from now on. They are just too expensive and I don’t know how anyone can afford that emergency vet. One good thing out of the whole ordeal is I learned that Garold had an intestinal blockage and they referred me to another vet cause I couldn’t afford their price and was on the verge of putting the cat down cause I didn’t want him to suffer anymore. I flat out told the lady based on how she was explaining it all, there’s nothing left for him unless I take out a second mortgage! She referred me to another urgent care vet and luckily I got him in first thing in the morning and they confirmed Garold needed a surgery and at their clinic it was going to be $2,400 for the surgery. So, my little buddy has a 3” scar on his belly and has a diet restriction.

Apparently he ate one of the girls rubber wrist bracelet . 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s been 2 days and now I’m having to fight him to keep him from jumping and ripping a stitch out! But atleast he’s now eating and feeling better.

Facebook marketplace searching finally paid off and I was able to secure 2 tall cabinets for cheap.
IMG_0912.jpeg
IMG_0913.jpeg

The green rusty cabinet will go away and also I will be gathering all of the cleaning supplies into one cabinet.

Just need to build a metal frame for the bottom and install some wheels to make it easier to roll around the garage.

I feel your pain, our boy ended up in the ER after we noticed he couldn’t take a leak. Vet told us to get him to them immediately! He had uric acid crystals in his bladder that had plugged him up. Vet said he was hours away from a burst bladder and horrible death! Untold $$$$ later (wife is in charge of fur expenses) and it’s all fun and games till somebody ends up in a cone!

Here he is at his all inclusive all expenses paid spa visit! He all good now that he gets fed a special diet that doesn’t form those crystals. Cat eats better than I do! 😂

It seems it’s common that orange cats develops the extra thumbs, even more common that they are more males! Seems orange female cats are very rare. One of my cousin’s cat had a liter of six orange cats, each one came out lighter in color then the recent one, and they all were males! Momma cat was not orange as strange as it is.

Currently Garold is fixated on this particular corner of the door. He’s never done this before the surgery.
IMG_0931.jpeg
The vet did say he would be loopy and will stare at the wall due to the powerful pain drug that they placed between his shoulders like a flea and tick medicine. She told me not to touch his shoulder due to it’s basically opioid based drug and will transfer to human via contact.
IMG_0932.png
Otherwise he’s acting like his normal self when the collar comes off under supervision and he wants to play. But the scar is still too fresh for him to be jumping and playing just yet.

Got the frames and wheels built and put under the cabinets. If you want to see nice welds go to @MadeByMiller or @zmotorsports page, you won’t find nice welds here yet.

New cabinets on wheels and starting to load up stuff in it.
IMG_0925.jpeg

Old cabinet is getting emptied,

IMG_0924.jpeg

Stuff in the bottom will go in the bunker since they are used once a year. The wheel caps will go to the parts cabinets, and the AC related tools will probably get stored in another cabinet. Shop vac filters will go in the car cleaning cabinet.

Going to leave this cabinet as is for now. Basically just fluid supply cabinet.
IMG_0944.jpeg

Then I moved over to the other cabinet. The plan is to use this one for all of the car cleaning supplies. Still unsure how it’s going to look. Need to keep pulling all of the cleaning stuff around the garage.

I’d like to get rid of the brown filing cabinet. We will see how it goes.

Kept hitting organization blockage so I’m just going to call it a night.

let me barrow that crock pot but without the oil taste.
I don’t see why it would have an oily taste, 😂🤣

I came into several crockpots over the years and this one went in the garage. I’ve used it to keep fluid film filled bottles warm in water. But I’ve been lucky that just a bucket of hot water can warm them up enough that I can spray. If I know I’m spraying several cars, I’ll put the crockpot to work.

Some progress in the garage.

Using up some wood I had stored, I made some ramps frame for the bunker of the Texas Barn. Down the road I hope to replace the wood ramp with a Metal ramp, something like an aluminum wheelchair ramp section with good traction. But for now I need a temporary ramp so when I start moving stuff I can safely put stuff into the bunker.

IMG_0949.jpeg

I got the car cleaning stuff in the cabinet. I’ll probably move stuff around once I start cleaning vehicles again. But for now it will sit like this since I have everything in one place.
IMG_0950.jpeg
IMG_0951.jpeg

Otherwise, it’s just a sorting, organizing, and tossing kind of day since it’s trash day tomorrow. Did my best to gather all of my electrical stuff and got it all organized. Hopefully I can find everything now instead of digging for the ****. Also need to take some of it back to Home Depot as it didn’t work for what I wanted to do and no need to keep it. Put all of the tools on benches back in their places and worked on organizing them all. I need to sort through my screwdrivers drawer, can’t close it due to the amount of screw drivers I got in there. I’ll split them into kits to put a kit in the three different locations at the other house.

Laid out all of the screwdrivers I had in one drawer that wouldn’t close. I know I got more floating around the house. Need to go wrangle them in to the herd.

I’m a little surprised I only have 3 Phillips for the Wright collection. I wonder if I’m missing some from the set that Dad might of put somewhere i couldn’t find them when I cleaned his place out?

I am missing one, Wright 9101. It’s the short stubby #2 Phillips screwdriver. Unfortunately I’m finding them for sale as per the titles, but photo shows a different size screwdriver. Might have to call these places and have them confirm the right screwdriver before I buy it. I’d like to complete the set as it was when he bought them.

AWESOME Cody. Congrats on the cover.

how kool is that!!!!

Congrats! Love the car, too!

Very cool, Cody...well deserving owner and car!
Thanks! I’ve been with that group since 2003 and I’ve watched others build some nice rides. Always wanted my camaro featured in the calendar but never really thought it would happen. Now I need to hang my new calendar in the new garage!
