Here's a compressor I picked up off a demo job a few weeks ago. This is what I started with:
I knew it needed to replace the motor with a single phase, but unfortunately the tank had several pinholes, and interior inspection showed a lot of rust, so a new Steel Fab tank was added. It's a Kellogg American 332 pump with 5HP Baldor motor, the original 4 3/4" pulley was replaced with a 6 3/4" for a pump speed of 647 RPM. According to the pump chart, that should put it about 20CFM @ 125psi.
TK LP, do you have the website/supplier for your replacement tank, my compressor and tank is a minimum of 30 years old.
PM me or post it for the others
Thanks
Sure, I ordered it through Compressor World, this is the tank page:

It was manufactured about 6 hours from me at:

Freight was $108.00, to a depot about 1/2 hour from me. I could not have gone to pick it up that cheap.
I'm curious why you didn't switch to vertical? It uses so much less floor space.
that kellogg 332 turned out real nice! not a fan of the stickers, but the rest of the job couldnt get any better

I used a small piece of 1/4" plate to make a flange, then crushed the end of a piece of 1" black pipe and welded it on to make an adapter for my craftsman.I'd like to see a close up on your intake filter adapter to the compressor head. I need to add a better filter to mine, but the opening is rectangular on the head.

It worked ok but I could never get it to hold pressure when the compressor was off, I ended up installing a 1/4 turn valve on the outlet of the compressor and got into the habit of shutting it off when I left the shop.AussieDan, do you have more pictures of the blue air line kit ? How do you like it? I'm thinking about buying some, they have a sell this week at Northern tools. A kit with 100' and 2 connecters for $79.00

Frik, I went to two 'Canadian Tire' stores and they didn't have any? That's like going to Cabelas In Texas an not having any bullets.
