I finally bit the bullet and bought a new compressor
A Javac TX3 4HP EU 230 Volt made in Cheq Republic.
Choose this one mainly because of its free run start, 100% EU made, High output (400ltrs gross, 350 ltrs nett output) low noise due to low revs (72 dba at 950 rpm.) and 5yrs waranty..
Paid € 545 incl. shipping excl. tax.
Some info from the supplier:
The TX-3 SS has for many years been one of the bestsellers in the range of Javac, the designation TX-3 is rooted in the fact that the first javac TX-3 compressors were equipped with a 3 HP (2,2 KW) motor on 230 volts mono, but after improving the crankshaft and the valves of these highly reliable air pump that we use for the TX-3 compressor, we have increased the yield by 25%, therefore we also have developed our special Nano engine with an output of 4 hp at 230 V. lay down a rate of 6 bar at 375 lt. / min. And still with a slow running compressor pump 900 rpm (aspirated flow 450 lt. / Min)
This compressor is built up in a 100 liter thick-walled tank (hence also the weight of 120 kg, ...) along the typical TX and VX interim tank, which has a function to always start the compressor motor in no-load load, and as a result the use of a B3 (nano) engine with low torque. This provides two major benefits: no peak load = lower power consumption, and allows you to run in continuous duty. Although we still recommend to determine the choice of the compressor so that the piston compressor still has a rest of 30% (for industrial continuous load, please refer to our scroll compressors)
The TX-3 compressor is factory set to a pressure of 6 bar (max. 8 bar) but can easily be adjusted to 10 bar maximum pressure of 8 bar pressure. Note that the theory says that the lower the operating pressure of a compressor is set, the longer the service life of the compressor.
Also, the compressor is equipped with an automatic start / stop system (presto stat), a security group, and a practical pressure reducer with two outputs to control the pressure on the compressor itself, there are also 2 Orion links for direct air removal and output of ½ "for connection to a ring line in the work house. This compressor is on two heavy-duty solid rubber wheels, which move easy.
Finally, and this is certainly so important than the compressor itself, is that the TX-3 due to its low rotational speed of the compressor pump on the one hand and on the other hand by the ideal cooling by the V-construction of the pump with chilled finned tube to the non-return valve
Resulting in air quality that is optimal, this gives then relative cold and condensation-free compressed air.
