That looks like a good deal to me for someone that needs a 3/4 set. Blackhawk was and still is a much respected name brand. If it goes any higher I'd say it's in the collector market and I can't say what those markets really are. I consider myself on the edge of collector and never pay collector prices.

Nice box.

There's not a lot of price points to use as precedence for the larger Blackhawk Quick Disconnect ("Q.D.") era sets, and especially not 3/4-inch square drive. That Q.D. 70-RD set, which is probably late 1920's, early 1930's, originally had 70 pieces in it (Blackhawk put the number of components into their model numbering schemes). Smaller sets, especially the 1/2-inch drive, show up from time to time. I have a few. Here’s a link to a 32-CD set I tricked out a few years ago. Anyway, looks to be considerably fewer than 70 pieces left, but that box is in great shape, the water-transfer label is very intact and legible, and there're enough of the handles and sockets remaining to make it worthwhile to try to complete. If I was closer, I'd definitely buy it.

Thanks for the link, Jim. I enjoyed looking it over.

If someone wants to grab that for me I'd be happy to reimburse the cost, shipping and even a little extra..........................or just hold it until Thanksgiving and I'll pick it up.

If I was in Raleigh I would, or maybe I'd have just bought it, but either way too far for me. Same reason that I don't own a Taco box, they have better stuff in that part of the state.

I'm already trying to setup a local guy who lives in Quail Corners, NC. Stay tuned. This box might be at my house by month's end.

I have quite a bit of early (Indian head stamp) 1/2" dr blackhawk if anyone is interested in a trade. Sockets, ell handles, extensions, and at least one rat.
