Got to read through this and apologies on very minimal thread hijacking.
Excellent work, and good thoughts on the electrical details. Paint work is a really nice touch.
It brings me back to my cooler kart build.
Things I learned:
- according to the Port Aransas Beach Patrol, this setup is "Super Illegal"
- Spend good time on steering geometry. Mine was guesstimating and it is twitchier than a Chihuahua on meth. You do not make sharp turns at speed.
- Torque converter made all the difference in power delivery. Actually allowed me to climb hills.
- Cannot ignore brakes. Mine I would say the brakes qualify as a suggestion at best. The next iteration will have proper discs.
- reverse gear would be really nice to have.
Next iteration I'm looking forward to several improvements on 2.0 . Hopefully in time for tailgate next fall.
Curious, what things would you change the next time around?
