It's called "Free Enterprise". That's what makes this country great.

I understand that......................
I am guilty of buying the $18.00 record vice's Big lots had in 2004, and re selling on e bay.
I wasn't working at the time.
anybody remember the $18.00 vice blow out at big lots?
They never have Jack Sh(% any more.
The seller with the "rare" black oxide set offered me a 22mm for $15.00 shipped.
Guess thats not too bad; Right?
I see at sears, the bigger MM ones really jump up in price.
Anyway to take a silver raised panel wrench, and black oxide it your self.

7/8" is 22.22mm

he meant 9/1000 of an inch difference.
I understand that.
I have idiosyncrasies!
yeah, 22 mm = .866........................
7/8 = .875.......................
as stated, I have the big old set from a few years ago, metric and standard.
I am sort of a simple ***, I buy stuff I don't need.................LOL
But as has been stated here, "Whats this "Need" thing have to do with it"..........LOL

What ever, Still fucks me Up, & I can't get a full set, so they can take advantage, and make money.
Still greed in my eyes.
Maybe I am not a money hungry go getter.

It's a wrench, not the cure to cancer you are being denied.

"Greed" is one of those words you can ask 20 different people what it means and you will get 20 different answers because it will depend on ones perception at the time.

Just because you have a want, does not mean your entitled.

I think the people on about eBay should just kinda leave it be. Really, can't slight someone trying to make a buck. That's how the world works. They're still good deals on eBay..

There's no way Hootbro could have known. I'd just use a 7/8 instead of 22mm if I were you since you don't seem to be able to get it for the price you'd like

I finally got around to putting the sockets I got in away. Here is a before and after picture. Getting better but I still have a long way to go to fill everything back up.

Actually I think for the big missing gaps in the 1/2 standard sizes I need to buy a full set. Just missing too many to make piece parting it cost effective.

Okay dudes...everyone gotta settle down. The joy of tool and all that. No point in being like women fighting over a pair of fancy shoes on clearance.

Any idea what it would cost to have the black oxide finish applied to a bare steel wrench? That or just spray paint the damn thing so it matches the rest of them in your tool box. lol

So I have an on-topic-ish question . I got a couple of the Industrial locking flex stubbies and was looking to round out a metric set. I don't mind mixing the professionals in, but can't find 9,11,14 mm. Did these things ever exist?

My package came Friday with big holes and everything loose in the box. have been on the phone for an hour this morning trying to get missing pcs.

I can't see how they thought throwing 40 individual tools loose in a box with some air pillows was OK....

Anyone looking for 11, 12, 14, 15, or 18mm? I know a few of these are in stock, but I'm not sure how many of them are. I will sell these for my cost plus shipping, or I will be returning them. It was too costly to piece together a set, considering I already have a full set of professionals.

DO you realize why the sears corporation is in financial trouble?

all of these tools will be collector items in a few years.

All but two of my wrenches came in as raised panel instead of full polish. Still stamped "Craftsman Industrial". Anyone else experience this?

I know they offer Industrial as full polish, raised panel or black oxide.....thats weird that they sent you raised panel if you ordered full polish!!. :dunno:

Call them up and get that fixed. It does show the full polished part number on the order form right?

These are...f-awesome wrenches (the black oxide ones). Quite impressive construction-wise. Extremely happy with this purchase. I cry now for my other crappier wrenches:drool:

Problem with "getting it fixed" is if they don't have them they will replace with the made in China equivalent. Kinda defeats the purpose

I finally built up a bunch of points and wanted the stubby wrench set, but they are now sold out. Hopefully they come back soon. :(

That's how they ship them to the store too.:bounce: The box just had a piece of paper and the wrenches sliding around.

I think the belief is: "They're tools they ain't gonna break sliding around in the box". Probably a bad belief for the full polish as far as scratches but I don't think they're gonna sit there and wrap each wrench in cushion paper or bubble wrap. Looking at the stuff I bought (some full polish crowfoot, a "matte finish" obstruction, and a bunch of black oxide) there wasn't any noticeable marking, honestly.

The problem is that they don't have any replacements in store and probably ran out of stock online already so basically he's gonna be stuck with returning them for his money back if it bothers him. He probably paid a lot so it probably annoys the hell out of him.

Might want to check your computer, your "un-subscribe" function you posted just before me seems broken.

This group has completely gone to hell
Used to be a nice group of guys,
A guy could comment with out being jumped all over.
Again, really gone to hell.
Another wise guy on my ignore list =Hootbro

It don't much matter, Ryan is ready to kick my **** off here any how.
But I don't feel it's all my fault.
Lost of wise guys with 40 posts coming in and mouthing off, smarting off, in what used to be a nice group of fellows.

You having Cancer has nothing to do with the discussion. My use of the word was an analogy. So no points for trying to throw that back at me.

I'll tell you what, you would not want to go through what I have gone through. The past 8 months were not a walk in the park.
You never think it's going to happen to you.
How about lets forget all the smart **** from both of us, and just have a nice group.

Ok guys. That's good enough. Back to tools, garages, etc... The rest of this nonsense is not appreciated or wanted here.

Does anyone know how these compare to the professional sets?

They aren't Snap on quality but better than Harbor Freight. The open ends will flex some if under heavy load. Finish is nice. I have a couple of sets that I enjoy using because they are cheap and do the job. Also if you lose one it doesn't hurt as bad.

I Think they are VERY close to snap on quality- non flank drive- (the polished professional and craftsman Industrial that is.

good enough for the mustang and the toyota's I work on...:3gears:

+1 I bought two snap on wrenches in my most commonly used sizes, to see if my mixed set of CMan Pro/CMan Industrial was worth replacing. They are equally as impressive, at about 20% of the price. I'm glad I didn't buy a set to try out.

The satin finish, and the black oxide, are no different than ordinary craftsman RP wrenches.
