The link I provided is says Closeout, but the price still shows 174.99. I wonder if the closeout pricing ended yesterday. They have some other socket sets that are on sale, and according to a clerk I spoke to in the store, that sale ran through yesterday. The website still shows the sale pricing. Their website, and maybe just their store in general anymore, seems a bit whacked out, as if nobody knows what's going on.

they are working on getting rid of the industrial tool still, but $175... as the original price (and showing now) is a joke, these are essentially standard craftsman tools albeit still made in USA.

This is an ongoing problem with the idiots at sears... I tried buying this set days ago and the price always reverts to the list price in the cart. The morons at sears dont know how to fix the issue online. They have to be the dumbest group of IT Engineers and Programmers on this planet.

It wont work because the site has errors and will never give the sale price. You can call and ***** them out and they will give you the price over the phone if you yell at them enough...

What is nice about these sets is that even the ratchets are USA Made. So its worth it to get them. You just have to deal with the fools at sears to do it.

I've had to yell at Sears plenty with my last two orders, not worth it. I only wanted it to save as a gift.

If you want to see why the 1/2 doesnt work... Go to the following link and you will see that some ***** added another page for the 1/2 at the 174.99 AS the close out price. So they want LIST PRICE as the close out on this toolset now. What a bunch of total idiots!

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-26pc...p-00936372000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

Tried to call several times and tell them their mistake but I swear you have to have an average IQ of negative 10 to work at Sears Customer Service. They didn't understand anything I tried to tell them. Gave up. I am not buying form them anymore anyway.

The 1/4" and 3/8" sets are also on closeout... Those prices work in the cart.

1/4" Link $19.21
http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-...p-00936363000P?prdNo=7&blockNo=7&blockType=G7

3/8" Link $9.67
http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-...p-00936360000P?prdNo=8&blockNo=8&blockType=G8

Combo Set of Both Link... ( has a more 3/8s items than the kit above) $39.37
http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-...00936373000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=13&blockType=G13

Opps they just bumped the 3/8s set to $38.69 and for only an 11 piece set. How is that a close out price? LOL Sears has lost it completely!

I'm really trying to resist the urge to buy more tools that I already have. You guys are not not making it easy.

FYI: The 1/2" set is all SAE, and most of the sockets are 12 point.
I know that can upset some people on this site.

Better late then never, but I've been buying these craftsman professional sets for 6mths. Some at 60% off, more at 75% off, and even more recently, at almost the 80% off. Yes Sears is a pain in the *** to deal with, some may think I am being piggy ,,, but the truth is I look at it as an investment - I have over 50 of the 1/2 sets.

Sears website lists for $174.99.

I just called customer service and directed them to the item on the Craftsman website.

They placed my order for $43.74 over the phone.

Thank you, O.P.!

Did they drop it to $43.74 or say they'd refund the difference after 5-10 business days?

Are you planning on selling them after sears no longer has USA built tools?

Price seems to be good. Are the following sockets good? Honestly, getting a bit confused at this point by all the comments about various levels of craftsman, triangle, 12 point, etc. If they are similar quality to the 1/2 set being discussed - buying both would make for a newbie basic set in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 for under $90.

The Craftsman 154pc for $99.99 seems to be a popular one.

If you want $15 off:
Add a cheap item to get the total to $100+, then place the order by phone with code SEARSTOOLS. They will refund you the $15.
The code used to be good for $10 off $75 or $15 off $100, but recently has been blocked for online puchase of the mechanics' sets.

Where did you end up ordering it from, mygofer?

I bought from mygofer last night and it shipped today. I didn't really need the sockets too badly, but wanted the ratchet and the breaker bar. Is this a relatively good deal for just those items alone?

Thanks for the scoop. Has combo wrenches, nut drivers, and hex keys plus the SAE and metric short and deep sockets. Like someone above, not sure i should be spending this much right now but is tempting. If the base price is 149.99 wonder if the sale comes around periodically.

Thanks for the codes too.

Successful shipping notice today on my third attempt. The first two sales were cancelled by Sears but this one got thru the system...
