I thought this one was a little crazy. I sold a freestanding one in beautiful shape for $225.

https://denver.craigslist.org/tls/d/wheat-ridge-rebuilt-rockwell-delta-14/7135117874.html

Rockwell Delta 1950’s DP225 14” benchtop drill press. #2 Jacobs chuck.

I put a lot of time into this press. List of restoration work:
- full tear down and cleaning
- return spring recalibration
- new motor bearings and capacitor
- new quill spindle bearing (try to find one!!)
- motor rewired for 240v, convertible to 120v
- new power cord
- new internal wiring and custom switch

This thing is built like a tank and has been rebuilt to last another 80 years.

Hard to find these tools now, especially in ready to use condition.

Asking $700.

Very nice, but $700 is a meth head price.

Seriously, abject stupidity? Seems to me the guy is simply being straightforward, and obviously doesn't care whether it sells or not. A new Wilton 4" bullet vise sells for over $700, not sure what you think a "fair" price would be for this one.

I have to lean towards gateway on this one. Why would anyone want to pay $500-600 for a vise that isn't new or in new condition when they can buy a new one for a little more.

Also, I've got a pet peeve about people who say they're "testing the market" and "don't care if it sells." That person is a time-waster in my opinion. Either **** or get off the pot.

Well, considering I sold the fence on the second one (which is actually correct for an earlier model, 24280) for over half the price of the second on BOYD, I would say there is a clear answer.

Yeah the earlier one is complete with miter and fence. Plus you don't see that one very often.

Not sure what the arm is on the side of the band saw in the pic, the booklet says it's a jig-saw too? I suspect that's a rip-guide?

Sixty bucks is a good price if you can use it.

I just looked-back to see the other one $300 seems too-much, the one below I got for something between the two but < 1/2 of the more-expensive one. Mine appears similar to the $300 one.

I just got this one at the local Habitat for Humanity, apparently it's seen little use. I've checked it out and cut with it, seems fine. I replaced the double-contact bayonet bulb, 120 V, w/an LED model, which gives better illumination, got that at Batteries+ Bulbs $7.50. The pics are before I cleaned it up. I put the BORA dolly under it so I can wheel it outside the shop to cut.

That Delta drill press ad's already taken down, I guess someone thought it was a deal. I sold a Delta of similar size & vintage about a year-ago for $75. It worked perfectly and needed nothing.

And a 60 gallon oil free compressor, I'm assuming from the mid to late 90's, for only $599 (reduced price!). My ears hurt just looking at this thing!

The above was from September of 2019, and even now in June of 2020, he still hasn't sold it.

In fact, he's even raised the price to a whopping $600 and now includes in the description a tacit admission that he doesn't actually want to sell it! :wtf:

These people never cease to amaze me with their abject stupidity. :tard:

Where I'm at right after HF has a sale you will see HF tools on CL's with a pretty good mark up, or on ebay. Think some of the CL's sellers are looking for those artist types

Here’s the latest near me: https://rochester.craigslist.org/for/d/dumore-hp-grinder-model-8317-cat/7278233165.html

The photo is of a small drill press. But the description says it has a 3 hp motor on it which is not even remotely close to right. And look at the price.

The content of the ad states:

Cat.# 25-024
General Specifications:

1750 spindle speed
3 HP motor
440 three phase electrics
Takes a 2" wide x 12" diameter wheel
Comes with 10 various wheels most the full diameter.

Condition: Good
Price: F.O.B. Rochester "as-inspected" $2,250.00 (New is $3,450.00)
Terms: Payment prior to shipment
Delivery: Immediate, subject to prior sale

Rare
I have to wonder if those are for money laundering.

Buyer has over 900 transactions over 5 years. Looking at the other items and past sells my guess the 5k might be an extra "zero" typo and the asking is probably $500. Also all his past auctions have a "highest offer accepted" so maybe the $5K is some sort of tactic or something. https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_...age:RECEIVED_AS_SELLER&_trksid=p2047675.l2560

Listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Snap-...072291?hash=item3b4daa3ae3:g:bB8AAOSww0Zd9JXn

This is also in the description. "This Set was one of the first 3/4" drive Set's made by the Snap On Tool Company in the early 1930's date code shows 1930 with over
stamp 1 when sold. These Cadmium plated Sockets has the original patina. The Tool Box has the original finish patina.
This Snap On 1930 Set should be in Museum for the Historical Archive Society."

He's right about them selling new for $3K+ retail. The pic is of Dumore Series 16 sensitive drill press that typically sell often, used for around $300-$400 on fleaBay but his is way too rusted to consider buying. Probably got his ad's & pics mixed up.

But he's totally high from breathing in too much Rapid Tap smoke, I always laugh at machinist who try selling there old, used, worn out equipment they've been using for 40 years that's been paid for 30x's over and then try gifting it to you at a price at 30-40% below Mfr. retail prices. Sadly, they do find suckers.

Those grinders can sell on eBay for $1.5K but also can be found much less like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dumore-No-25-3hp-Tool-Post-Grinder-for-lathes-/293975422289?hash=item44724cf551%3Ag%3ArVUAAOSwMD1gEE%7ED&nma=true&si=LMwKivXRSlm0dg8Owaz8MkuUlVU%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Yesterday I bought part of a Dumore tool post grinder with a sweet running motor for $10 and no, no missing digits in price.
