Note: the building has been built around the electrical wire for the time being. Because believe it or not we are living in the house throughout the construction. Even when they tear the roof off!!

This is the steel beam attached to the excavator that was used as a crane. I was at work during the day, so unfortunately I don't have any action shots. I would just document by photos when I would get home at night. It was exciting to get home each night so I could discover what else had been done.

This is a photo of the roof from the back of the house. The front roof was at a steep 60 degree angle and stuck above the rear roof.

Believe it or not this is inside the new master bedroom. One of my tasks was to cut out and remove the rest of the old roof from inside the house! We were also able to do this entire remodel without a dumpster. All the wood was burned, and everything else was hauled to the dump.

If you look to the right in this picture, you can see the old house and the 60 degree roof line in the wall. And to the left is the new house and the new 4 foot bumpout. The master bedroom and the living room above the garage will have cathedral ceilings.

And if things weren't hectic (and expensive) enough, in late August of 2009 I got married and we had a well deserved break with a honeymoon to Alaska. I have to give Heather credit, the remodel was a very trying time for us. She had to deal with an unexpected death in her immediate family, the house, the wedding. It was a really difficult time looking back, but am proud to say that we made it through.
