The addition is set about half a story down from the original first floor. So when you walk into the new entry, you walk up half a flight of stairs to the first floor of the original house. Then its another half flight from the first floor of the original house up to the new living room/bedrooms above the garage. And then one more half flight up to the master bedroom suite area.
We now have some snow/cold weather to deal with. The picture above is the only working shower this house had. It wasn't pretty. The bathroom next to it was never finished. The will both be gutted and turned into a large master bath with whirlpool tub and walk in shower.
This was our bathroom accommodations for a few weeks. It certainly wasn't private. Also, quite cold. Don't forget this is winter in new Hampshire and the only thing that separated the unheated addition from the somewhat heated original house was a sheet of plastic. We also had doors made out of strapping and plastic that were held shut with bungee cords.
And I haven't forgotten this is a garage site. This is insulation I bought at a deep discount because it has a skimcoat of concrete on it. Just like the entry, we compacted, insulated, then put down radiant floor tubing for radiant heat.
Finally some drywall. They drywalled the garage first (this is the "work bay" with 12 foot ceilings). Then we will move into the garage (during February!) while the drywall the rest of the house.
