Interesting, wonder whey they don't list them on the main site.

I don't know why, but I've noticed they do that alot.....gotta check both places to see all that they have.

Just a guess. They probably list their items for 2 weeks or more at a time. So when they list one on ebay they set it aside, and take it out of store inventory.

I love getting those big boxes from cripe! FUN TIMES!

Got a box of goodies yesterday, couldn't be happier!! I do agree their site is a little clunky, and odd to navigate.

The ebay way is def. odd. I'm in that process now since they had some things there they didn't have on their site. Not a smooth process trying to get the shipping figured out.

My junk comes in today....scored a Cman torque screwdriver for 65 and S pattern GW for 65 among other things....should be delivered today.

I think I'll take some pics of a beat up box and broken tools to further ward off the masses from looking at Cripe:thumbup:......or am I jinxing myself into having a beat up box?......:headscrat

The box arrived with the tape broken on the top of the box :(, there was no butler to hand it to me (was left on the doorstep, the nerve :willy_nil), some of the stuff had dust on it, and some of the stuff was made in Taiwain:sad:!!!

My suggestion, NEVER buy fro them. In fact, don't even look at the website!! I'll sacrifice myself and keep track of all the rip offs this website offers!:lol_hitti

Does anyone notice that sometimes they don't offer critical information on items? Such as providing the drive size for socket sets.
I don't see that on the website or Ebay store. Where did you buy that from?

I thought that 3/8 Allen extension was an impact, but I think that was more my fault than theirs....hell, it was only 3 bucks anyway.

The S pattern set is gone, they only had 5. The Cman was one of only two also, both were on Fleabay.

You really have to check them like everyday, both the site and Ebay to see all the stuff they have. Some stuff comes and goes pretty quick.

I ordered the Gearwrench 63pc. 3/8"dr. master socket set from them and it shipped the next day, had it in three days. Very good customer service with email update on shipping info.

I was expecting the sockets to come loosely packaged in a box or something, due to the price only being $41.00 compared to $89-90+ I saw elsewhere but it arrived in the factory box which doubles as a nice storage tray.

They have some really good deals, I check that website often and they seem to get new stuff all the time. I would order there again.

Thats a nice set, My brother in law asked me to find him a set so I ordered them from Cripe. He ended buying a big Craftsman set and I got stuck with the Gearwrench. I was shocked to see how nice they were and great coverage. It has that nice tray as well. The cover has what seems like 20 screws that holds the top on. It was a killer deal at 41 dollars. Ive since threw in the towel with Gearwrench but have to adnit that those are a bargin. At 65 cents per socket I can deal with it. They are really nice

Well, you guys finally got to me. I decided that I would try out Cripe with the purchase of a 25mm KD wrench (to add to a Gearwrench set that doesn't have one). Well, after going to their site I thought a pair of pliers might be a good idea too. When I finally placed the order, I had a few other things in my cart. :bounce: All for just about $100 too.

photo.jpg

Gearwrench:
5pc mini plier set
mini bent nose pliers (not in set)
6" needle nose
6" bent nose
8" needle nose
8" bent nose
4pc door panel kit

Napa double x plier set

Allen 25" 3/8" extension

KD wrenches to fill holes in sets:
25mm combo
11mm stubby
16mm stubby

Once again, you guys need to quit writing of Cripe goodies. Prices are increasing, selection is dwindling, and competition is increasing. Post that you got them from ebay and offer nothing further. People don't appreciate Cripe here and should not be told of their goodies.:wtf:
Nice trim tool set by the way.

I'm sorry about your Gearwrench misfortune (I read your other thread). I agree with you 100% and it has kinda got me worried thinking about it myself if I had to warranty anything broken. I sure hope they rethink their warranty. I did buy a few open stock extensions the other day from my local Fastenal and they carry a good line of Gearwrench stuff so I surely hope that they can be my goto guys for warranty issues down the road.

I also got the 1/4" master set from Toolsource since then and it came in the same packaging as the 3/8 set. The quality is the same and so far I'm really liking them.

well, after looking at my x beam gearwrench's i'm thinking they must be 2nds. the open end machining is pretty horrible. as in not uniformly flat. I'll try to document with a picture, but my raised panel CMan wrenches were alot better in that respect. I mean, i got them for the ratchet end so its not a huge deal. Its just they never specified them as 2nds or what not. The SAE and Metric are the same. The normal warranty replacements I got from HD look much better.

FWIW - my orders have always arrived within 4-5 days at the most, well packaged and very reasonably priced for combined shipping (I always reach out to them before paying to mention combined shipping pricing and wait for a final price - then pay and a few days later I get a nice big box :) )

What does that mean? You get them to lower the shipping price by asking for a quote before placing an order?

I've ordered about 4-5 times now from them, and I never pay until I email them for a price quote for combined shipping. That's the website and their ebay account. They also try to get stuff in flat rate boxes for me as USPS ***** up here in VT.

Exactly. I buy and then ask for a total for all my items with combined shipping before I pay. No preference on shipping method they've sent via ups and usps and always been great for me.

Interesting. Just didn't seem like it was something designed into it. Is it on all new ratcheting wrenches? The finish still seemed pretty rough on the inside there.

ive been buying from cripe for at least 2 years. i have spent close to 2k with them. i became an auto tech a year ago and have been buying alot of the basic and specialty tools. i have never had a complaint. i love this company and i hope they continue selling gearwrench products. they are what matco sells for some of their products. just re-labeled.

Yep -- I hadn't checked out Cripe in about a year and couldn't believe how much the selection of Armstrong had dwindled. Let that be a lesson to me. Get the deals right away rather than wait:thumbup:

Yep. I got a huge box sent across the country for about $15 via UPS. Completely reasonable.

I was on the overcharge for shipping bandwagon with Cripes. Wouldn't touch them anymore.
After hearing about refunds on shipping, I put together an order on epay last week. As before, the estimated shipping was more than the actual parts. I sent a request for true total and the shipping dropped into the $16 range. Good enough, paid. I just got an email that they refunded an additional $2.50. I sure wasn't expecting that.
I can't think of any other place where I can order a half dozen made in USA 10mm sockets without paying an arm and a leg.

It has been off and on ever since they did the overhaul of the site, I think they are having problems that they can't straighten out.
