Jim
Thanks for checking in! That was fun to grab that stuff from the car wash for free, in fact that was the first time I ever made money on a pick

BF, good to see you posting an update. Nice job bringing back the straw dispenser and those are some nice items you scored on your picking runs.
Can’t wait to see what you do to the gas pump.
Jay

Those are some seriously cool aqquisitions you got there! All of em!
Where'd you find your Gates belts at? I have the same rack and sign but struggling to find any belts..
Good luck on the knee recovery. Mine didn't go well and took forever back in 19.
The wife and I went out a while back and I spotted something so bizarre I had to stop and take a second look, I even shot some pictures of it...spray foam body work!

I decided to tear into the Correct Measure pump even though I have 30 other projects started already, The top skins are in good enough shape to save, but the bottom skin was cut up and dented pretty bad, I thought it would be easier to make new ones, I cut the steel 43" tall by 56" wide from 12 gauge steel, it was too thick for my roller so I took it to a local fab shop and they rolled it for me and didn't charge me
I will cut the rolled steel and mount it on the base in two separate pieces.
I think this about brings me up to date on what has been happening around here! it may be a while before I get back to the pump, I also need to get back to my Flying A sign that I started on last year.

2021-03-06 14.23.59 by don long, on FlickrBF, I was wondering how your knee situation was coming along. I hope you have a speedy recovery and get back to DaBarn soon. Those porcelain signs look awesome.
At least the foam repair guy made an attempt to paint it, although badly.
The car kind of looks like it has leprosy.
Jay
Can't wait until tomorrow because I get to take a shower after four days
Welcome home buddy.
Da-Barn is lookin good with all the new (since I saw it last) treasures.
Nice score on the pump and signs and car wash stuff. I just scored a goodyear flange sign the other day too. I like the bright colors on the Buffalo sign and love that you opened up the pump and started the redue on it. 12 gage seems a little heavy to me but ok.
So what kind of surgery did you have on the knee?
Here is a surprise sign that I got for Christmas that I still need to hang somewhere in my garage. I didn't know that the family was in the oil business til now

The Flying "A" sign looks great too.
You were missed

BF,
Great scores!
Hope the rehab goes well. And quickly!
The foam body work reminded me of an old SNL bit about the new Ford Adobe.
Get a dent, just reform the clay bodywork.

darkstar88Da Barn's looking great.
DonSend it over. I'll give you my best effort. That "A" looks fantastic and sooo clean
I have the faces cut out on mine then got side tracked with the clock and Foster sign but after the surgery I'm back on it.
Thanks again
Puget,Sign looks great, Tony!
It's really going to be a showpiece when you finish one of your own "half-million" dollar paint jobs!
No prob. I can only wish that my garage looks similar to yours.darkstar88
Thanks for the visit and the complement on the barn, I really enjoy my time out there
Don
Thanks for stopping by my thread! that Fosters sign is freaking awesome sitting up on its pole now
Can't wait to see what you do with your Flying A sign
Good luck with the surgery! Keep us up to date.
Puget,
Thanks for the visit! I measured out the whole thing with my Chicago Bears tape measure
My paint job will be more like a Earl Shives $19.95 special![]()
Drivesnice finds and work on your place!! your lawn looks like a golf course and not sure how you did that?
might I suggest always making 2 signs when you make these cool ones so you can haul them all to California and leave one of each with Don for painting them?
I had my left knee scoped in 1985 and even though it hurt like heck before surgery he couldn't find anything wrong, but 36 years later it's acting up again (my Dr. and I agree that it's probably arthritis so i'll just work thru it). good luck and hope yours is pain free and working like it should soon cause you do do great work.
cheers
DarkstarNo prob. I can only wish that my garage looks similar to yours.![]()
ShortyOuch!
Signs and Flying A looking good.
JimGot things looking really sharp there Tony, the flying A is beautiful

Tony
That is a problem. I can't imagine working inside the party garage. It's bad enough with the doors open and a car club driving into the yard.
I have vacuum tools for all my sanding but not grinding and my shop still gets pretty dirty with the bigger projects.
I'm staring at the Big "A" sign every time I step into the shop but the clock and Foster sign put it on the back burner and now that I'm held up for a month of healing it still sits but I'll hit it hard next month. Thanks again for the pattern
Don
Tony's pattern and Don's craftsmanship. Can't wait to see the finished product.
ShortyWelcome
To
Dabarn
Look but
don’t touch
Tony, you’re welcome out here anytime, but I would hold off until the fall, Phoenix is just entering the seventh level of Hell, aka Summer… triple digits for the next three months.
I finally broke down and added AC to the garage last summer- it was 118 the day they installed it….
Scott
Tony the flying A is beautiful, it will be interesting to see what you put on the sign.
I have a separate area for grinding and painting, problem is I spend all of my time there and not organizing my display area. It looks like a warehouse!
