I was watching a video of astral auto repair on Youtube and i saw how long it was taking to remove some push pins in the wheel well of a car and thought i would share what i use to help combat those VERY frustrating push pins. Some folks don't know this tool exists. There is a video if you click the pic.

OP those are cool but really you come here to promote your business?. Come on the least you could do is become a supporter if you're going to do this.

Have the pliers, and the little remover pry bar things for them. When that doesn't work side cuts or torch them out.

Those are the kind of tool that you rarely use, but when you need it, there is no easy substitute. I'll likely get either the Amazon or HF flavour

You're intimately familiar w these if you own a Duramax. Also buy the replacement set of clips and pins 'cause they don't always come apart like they should.

I have a few of these pliers including this
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SRCMO/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I remove push pins frequently, and some of those tools are not that useful.

Sometimes the plastic parts are hard to force them apart and you'll need a thin, sharp tool.

For some clips with a center pin, you can push it down and it will open up.
Don't waste time trying to force it upwards.

Yep, you see these a lot on motorcycles. Unless you know the secret (push the center pin in a bit), they will drive you absolutely batty.

Yes, I own 4 (Matco rebadged) and use them frequently. Chrysler makes the worst push pins ever made...

Save yourself $10 and get them from HF for $8 after a 20% off coupon.

These panel clip pliers also work great as well...

I use this style as well. Used for over 20 years. But mine are snap on and alot more expensive. On the pop up center style clips, I just use a flat screw driver to get the centers up then use these.

I also stumbled upon a thread I started about this in '11:

Others here have contended you can get at the filter from the bottom even on the LMM's but I've looked (closely) and contend they're severely mistaken. Perhaps if you had nothing but time it might be possible in the extremely literal sense of possible, but not at all practical.

And yes, I really just need to install the door on the inner fender. I know that.

And I'm going to take this opportunity to once again give a big F-U shout-out to GM engineers who EASILY could have designed the entire inner fender to be retained by one single type of fastener, instead of four different types.
