Down lighting driveway

Build in progress and realize I want to have some down lighting to light the concrete area in front of garage door. Would come in handy unloading a vehicle at night (dirtbikes, trailer, etc).

I will have a security light under the front porch eave that will shine that direction, and also barn lights over the garage door.

Leaning toward these for under the eaves https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VEGROS/?tag=atomicindus08-20

And these for barn lights https://www.htm-lighting.com/collec...ouse-shade-with-gooseneck?variant=52003710854

I am not sure these would do the job well enough and that something up in the eave would be needed. Eave in this area is around 30'. I can't decide if a security light like above would be enough (would it be too high?) or a wallpack type light is needed. Whatever I put up there, I don't want to have to scale a ladder to fuss with it more than once or twice in my lifetime. Pad in front of garage is about 25'W x 27'L. I live out in the country, so have no light pollution concerns.

I like the one Jason B used but not 100% sure that's the one for me.

Attached pic shows where security and barn lights will be and where I am thinking of the down light.

I bought similar lights for my shop to go on each side of the garage doors and over the entry door. I'm using some CREE LED flood lights in them, and they put out some decent light as far as I'm concerned.

I also plan on installing a LED Pack light above the main garage door, as well as on the north side between the garage door and entry door to light up the back yard. I bought some, but haven't climbed up there and hung them yet.

I've included some pics... the nighttime one doesn't really capture it correctly. I'll have to snap some pics from the shop looking out so you can get a better idea on how the light projects outward.

Hope this helps.

Nice looking shop man! What are those, about 8' off the ground?

Thanks! The lights are closer to 7' I'd say... they are all at the same height, and the entry door would be the reference point which is typically 6' 6" high. My sidewall is 14' feet if that helps.

Right at about 13' 6" or so... Side wall is 14' and that's a 12x12 door, so... close enough.

Suburban is a long story... started as 35's on a 6" lift, then added a 3" body lift and 38.5" Swampers. Burned up the 1/2 ton rear axle, upgraded to a GM 9.5 3/4 ton. Buried it in a mud hole, got pissed, decided it was time for an upgrade.

So a buddy showed up with a cutting torch and a case of beer... front suspension was cut off and I started fabricating for a solid axle conversion. Dana 60 with 4.88's up front, GM 14 bolt for the rear. Was making decent progress but I got tried of lying under it in the weather so I decided I needed a shop.

Then I went back to college to work on my engineering degree, and the project stalled.

Many years later, I'm now married and finally have a shop. Wife wants us to do a project together, so I'm thinking about a Wrangler Unlimited with a LS conversion. (Using those axles.) I guess we'll see what happens.

Full width axles probably fit pretty well now since the wranglers have gotten so much wider.
