Nice wagon and you have a great garage. Went through both of your threads. Got a couple of VW's myself so it nice to see people with similar tastes.

Nice wagon :) My Audi A3 TDI buyback is in limbo as the vehicle came from the US. That said, the buyback is 27K US, if it goes through...so the exchange CAD factor is good.

I bought the A3 because it was the 2010 "green car of the year"..and I liked the wagon format combined with decent driving dynamics. The Jetta's extra few inches and all wheel drive would be welcome :)

I love the new ride, I need a longroof in my life.

Sooo handy. Do it. Thought you might also like the colour selection

Yeah! That thing is awesome. Congrats.

Thanks Rick.

Very nice dubber.

Love the gsw, the mrs wants one but of course we got a tsi in '15 instead of springing for the diesel. Whoops!

The diesel jetta was great and it put us in a great position for the GSW.

Thanks man. Happy to hear you perused both threads. Tons of content for a fellow enthousiast :3gears:

Hoping your transaction works well for you. We ended up getting $25K in total which was amazing.

The new ride is actually a Golf now, VW kept switching between the Golf and Jetta for their wagons. Its also 3 inches shorter than my MK6 Jetta but it has much more usable space and saves a few inches in the garage. Win win!

Nicely done on the tables. Takes so much pride into putting work into projects like that in an era of cheap disposal household furnitures.

Lowered the SportWagen yesterday and its now sitting pretty.

And the "matching" Golfs with hatches, dual exhaust, 4 motion and now both hugging the RaceDeck flooring

Ill be sure to pour one out for my fallen TDI brother.. although the 4 Motion GSW is a sweet replacement..

:) hahaha thank you sir. I can tell you i miss the fuel savings. Beyond that this car is amazing. Perfect for what i bought it for. Daily, year round hauler that is fun to drive.

Shaved the trunk badges this weekend and installed my new R headlights. Lots of fun garage time :rocker:

And revised booty shot with new height and cleaned up trunk.

Looks great and nice choice for a daily, Dubber, or should I say "Silverjet" :D (saw you posted on vortex and realized, "hey, i know that garage!"). I think you will enjoy it a lot, mk7 is a solid platform. Not sure how much you plan to mod it but there are a lot of really cool and functional euro add-on's like LED tails and auto-folding mirrors to name a few.

Found these while doing a ton of research. They are a quarter of the price for an OEM set of R LED headlights. Top notch quality and great reputation.

These are the ones i got.

 Ed + BEC are a good company. Got my taillights from him and he was very nice and helpful and even sent me a replacement wire harness for free when I broke mine during install.

Hahaha yup thats me. My first forum username.

I'm loving this platform. Really crazy all the advancements from my 20014 MK6 Jetta to this. The SportWagen is only the mid-level trim package (Comfortline in Canada) but it has everything i needed.

Can you remind me again which of the regular garden hose foam guns you liked? I know you have moved on to pressure washer style now, but I remember in one of your threads a discussion about the one you had before the one you have now.. I tried looking yestreday but couldn't find it..

wanting to move up from a bucket and lambswool mitt.. to a bucket, lambswool mitt and foam gun... lol

Thanks!

Do it! So many useful applications. Beyond the cars, its great for washing the windows on your house, and removing bird **** from fences, sidewalks etc and cleaning the driveway.

It has been done! I ended up winning a $100 eBay gift card through a spin-the-wheel contest they had on their site about a month ago, so after doing some research, I settled on the Sun Joe SPX3000:

Haven't had too many opportunities (or time) to really get in and use it yet, but from a quick, preliminary use, I think I'll be very happy with my purchase.

Thanks, again, for the recommendation!

Thanks! I appreciate the kind works.

Well over the weekend i tackled something i've been neglecting all summer. The weather seal for the garage door was in desperate need of being replaced. Really started to notice a lot of bugs and moisture in one of the corners near the door. Found the culprit! First time replacing one of these bad boys and all i can say is man they are tedious to do. Extremely helpful older gent at Home Depot said i could avoid the size specific unit (16') for $37 and instead get this (pic below) unit for $19 and it was for a 18' garage door. Benefit was i was able to leave an extra inch on each side.

Shows i'm missing a couple inches at one end.

Out with the old!

New product

Mid-install

Final product looks great from both sides and will be very beneficial come winter time. Also took the opportunity to add some extra seal near the bottom of both sides where i could still see daylight from inside with the door closed and the lights off.

Did mine last year and the replacement did NOT go on easy. Funny how seemingly simple jobs can be really difficult. Had to use a dish soap and water solution to help it slide down the tracks and even then it was a struggle.

I can imagine how it could have turned ugly quickly. It was funny when i first started to pull out the old piece, after a couple minutes i stopped. Then i said to myself screw this, i need a beer and a knife. Came off "smooth" after those tools were used :lol_hitti

Dubber, when I replaced the seals on my three 8-foot garage doors I bought the 10-foot seals and fed the excess back into the opening of the seal and slid the seal to the end. Seals better now (always had gaps at the ends).

/\ Thanks. Good to know. I had also considered that when finishing up. Opted to just leave slack that passes beyond the door but short of the tracks.

I seriously doubt you would regret the choice. Had to use it last night to pick up my in-laws from the airport after being in Europe for 2 months. 4 adults, 4 huge suitcases with ease. And looked good doing it hahaha.

A few street shots from last month.
