Something to note from the install process is we had to splice the last row of tiles to squeeze it in and we used a circular saw. The little plastic shreds went everywhere and i was a little worried as it went through the Free Flow everywhere since we had to do the cutting on the finished floor (although on my workmate). This is where this design sold itself again, a simple pass by with a shop vac was able to **** everything up through the tiles. Amazing!

I'm certainly sold on the RaceDeck now (and they're even local to me). Long way to go for me before I'm ready for that project, but seeing another nice 1-car done up this way seals the deal.

Thank you, i will do my best! Currently working on a new shop vac to help make clean up a breeze. I'm looking to more then double my horsepower (from 2hp lol). I've got one slated to be delivered on Friday, just might be tight with the fitment into my Husky Cabinet. I have a back-up in mind if this one doesn't work out.
I went to the Sears tool department today, funny enough for the first time, for some reason i never think to go there. Anyway the primary purpose was to check out their shop vacs and see what they actually had in store. I was looking for a potential back up as the one I'm having delivered may be too tall for the space i want to store it, so we shall see. It was supposed to arrive today but for some reason that didn't happen.
While i was wandering around i came across the tool chest selection and noticed one on clearance
well the deal was amazing. Normally this piece is $249.99 but they had one floor model on clearance for $99, which is a 60% savings. I had been toying with the idea of having a storage option that could serve a dual purpose as a quasi table, work surface. I needed something slim and this definitely fit the bill. It was scooped up and I'm now in the process of painting the top particle board that came with it to see if that will be enough for the function and look of it.
Between coats on that I'm also still chipping away at the two stools. Both are now painted black, but I'm still waiting on one of my decals. The other decal that I decided to use later on is here already so i put that one on and I'm in the process of applying some clear coats to it. I think they are turning out pretty nice for being around $10 each. Once these are done i'll be able to have one stool on either side of this Craftsman cabinet.
Also found an old picture of one of my old favorite dubs; 1998 VW GTI VR6. Pic was taken at a local import show a number of years ago where it won first place in the Euro category. So that had to be framed and a home was found for it, although the GTI's trophies will have to stay in storage as they would now be an eyesore haha.

I am wondering if those Craftsman cabinets are only sold north of the border. I haven't seen one like that here in my local store. I think Rick has one similar too.

Yea you did for sure. It was funny when you mentioned what you would do, as it was what i was doing. I have a large 10" VW logo coming in for the other one.
As for the cabinets that's odd that they would be only available here. And yes Rick has two of these bad boys.

Crikey, that sounds like a lot! My compressor is 'only' 3hp and that needs a special 20A feed into the fuse box as it draws too much current to power it from a normal mains socket. A 4 hp vac is going to **** the carpets out of you car?
That cabinet was definitely a bargain and looks great in your space.

I will say its a lot more difficult to tackle those projects on a volkswagen (mk4-current) than to learn on an older domestic like a small block chevy. Then, once you gain the know-how with motors/trannies/suspension geometry on more simpler things, you can move on to more complicated motors like volkswagen likes to use nowadays.
As you might assume, I'm not a big fan of all the new diagnostics and complicated electrical systems built into cars but I have done my fair share of VagCom scanning and have gotten used to it to an extent.
