Oh man, December 3rd can't get here fast enough can it?

Take in mind the electrical outlets or anything else you want to move before you start painting, or adding panels. Would be pretty easy to move or add something before you start.

Great space! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

The wait is truly killing me. Great point, yea i'll ensure to tackle that first, then finish the walls.

Throwing my 2 cents in. We just started painting our interior. OSB was the most economical way for us to do it and we definately did NOT want to be doing a ton of paint work. We went with Zinsser Cover Stain Primer. 2 Coats and we are very happy with the look.

Appreciate the info and pics. Cheers.

Looks great! I was in the exact same boat. And if you really need to redo some wiring or add anything, all you have to do is unscrew the OSB and re-install when done

Unscrew!?!? Oh **** we pinned ours. :wtf: :D

hahaha

Wifey decided she wants to upgrade the fridge included in the new house which now means i can incorporate the current standard sized stainless fridge will be worked into the garage layout. Crazy to actually have room to easily absorb a fridge without issue; when i was working with exact inches in my last two garages

If you're still considering mudding the whole thing and you're in the west end, I have a guy who does phenomenal work and prices pretty well.

We're in Stittsville

Trip to Costco last night ended up being quite fruitful.... Stumbled across this display and after some thought and calculations I realized these would work perfectly in my new space. I had priced out a comparable unit by Commercial Electric at Home Depot for $129 each. Since i was buying 6 this amounted to a nice little savings at only $75 each.

I bought 2'x4' flat LED panels like these for my shop. I think they were like 7800 lumens each...bought 4 initially and figured I'd have to buy more later, but it lights up the space great! Not sure how your garage is set up, but for me I bought the frame kits and hung them from my metal ceiling.

The standard costco Fiet led 4' lights will go on sale for black friday at $17.

Are the ones you scooped up chainable (as in you can daisy chain 4 or more together)

I believe these are all in one piece and i'll mount them directly into the existing outlet.

These aren't connectable i believe. The ones i currently have in my double are. Looking for a little cleaner set-up.

Honestly, its a great vehicle that is hard to find a fault. Love grabbing the keys daily and enjoying all aspects, and a few looks hahaha.

Last shot of the car before I sold the OEM 19's.

Recently swapped to the new to me winter set-up. Freaking love the look of these, suit the car really well.

TTRS 18" winter wheels

Enjoy your new ride!

Its actually only on springs like my S3. Sportwagen has H&R Super Sport Springs. Ride height is spot on.

Oh dang! Looks just right, like you said. I went with VWR on my GTI and I wish it was just a tad lower, but I also kept the stock shocks and I can tell they are deteriorating. Oh well.

Just tossing my thoughts out what I would do with the walls. I really prefer the finished look of drywall. If you left the OSB and put drywall on top of it, especially on the wall connected to the house, it would actually help with reducing the noise to the house a little bit. Now that would mess with door/window jams and they would have to be redone as well.

Nice! I skimped on lighting and now regret it. I'll be re-doing the lights in the future.

Its funny, the wagon which is now my wife's car is slammed and mine is a little higher which is certainly odd. Used the wagon over the weekend for all of our moving miscellaneous items (boy is it handy) and it gets a ton of looks and comments which is kinda fun.

Appreciate the suggestion. Thinking adding drywall at this point is out of scope. Good news is the house design which is somewhat unique shares a wall with a powder room, laundry closet and jacket closet which sits in a hallway removed from the primary living space. Doing a horrible job describing that so i i'll just add a picture, hahaha.

The right of this shot shares a wall with the garage.

Often overlooked by most people, including myself. I've definitely realized after creating my last two spaces that there really is never enough. I'll be adding these six lights and already making plans for addition lighting sources. Bonus the garage also has three windows that can assist during the day.

Not sure if it is due to Canadain prices compared to US, but i swear the price on the skylights were 59.99 this past weekend at Costco. On their website they are $69.99.

Yea our prices are definitely different. The odd thing with Costco though is you will often see a sign in store for a product with a much lower price then you see online. Those lights for example were listed for $119 online.

Congrats! Awesome house and garage!

Wout

Thanks you sir!

Excited about some acquisitions made last night, picked up a couple tire racks. Awesome to have space to now have extra wheels in the garage and not hauling them to and from the basement.

Sooo who else took advantage of Black Friday specials? I know I certainly did and knocked off several items from my list. Also exciting to provide my new address when placing orders. Now just have to try and remember the postal code lol...

I could definitely use some tire racks, but wall space and ceiling height is a problem. What style/brand did you go with?

Congrats on the new home and stepping up to a 3 car. This will be fun to follow along and I’m already looking forward to Dubber’s 8 Car someday. I was a bit surprised to see the OSB on the connecting wall to the home. I’m used to building code requiring something more fire retardant. But OSB is a great cheap way to cover studs and insulation while providing good structure to screw into. But like you I would not look forward to all the Sheetrock, mud and sanding. To me the easier way is to put some other accent covering over top of the OSB. You already mentioned a couple found at Homer’s Depot. In my garage the house was built with 2 walls already covered with Sheetrock. The other two walls I insulated and covered with OSB and then used corrugated metal on top of that for an industrial looking accent to the painted walls. Brand new shiny metal from HD was not too expensive for the amount I used. Keep looking for the right material that fits your taste and just cover over the OSB.
Subscribed and looking forward for updates.

Mine were sourced at a local Canadian company, so i don't think i can assist with an applicable recommendation seeing that you are in the US. I've heard great things about the stout pieces available at TireRack.

hahaha. It has truly been a crazy week.... Pics to come.

Picked up the Zinsser Cover Stain primer-sealer which a fellow GJ member recommended. Going to do a test piece with a combination of light sanding and a couple applications. Eye level for most of the perimeter will either have cabinets or Husky Track wall. Well see how it goes...

Edit: Full credit to Krmnnghia for the Zinsser suggestion

Hi and congrats on the new place! We bought a new house last year with an attached 3-car. It’s awesome! Plus it has a detached 30x30 that I get for my shop!

I just finished it from the bare studs and went with OSB. I used 2 coats of original oil-based Kilz. Took 8 gallons but I think it looks just fine. I did caulk all seams with painters caulk which really helps. It dries fast and you can kinda work it like bondo. Lol

Pulling both cars into the garage for the first time was a very happy moment i have to say. Despite a bunch of **** everywhere there is soo much room...

This really helps to give perspective to the size of the two outside doors. Actually had a friend with a new Raptor and another with a Denali HD truck and both had over a foot and a half of clearance. Unbelievable!

For the first few days it felt as though every courier company made a visit to our new address :lol_hitti. Two notable ones arrived on skids :)

Looking great.

Only way I will upgrade is if I farm out the next garage build to the point even paint is done.

Is that the dedicated parking arrangement? Or is the beer sessions gonna be held in the middle or one car moved around?

That place is going to look HUGE when you get some white paint on the walls and ceiling.
Some high bay LED lights would help brighten the place up as well.
