I love the black garage doors, think I'm going to be stealing that for my next build, that or lately I've been crushing on frosted glass look, not in my current neighborhood, but there is talk of moving in my house hold so we shall see.

Something i've always wanted and man do i love them. The manufacturer has an intense list of options, which can include frosted glass. A few of my neighbors have those models.

You could easily apply your own film of whatever frost/color you wanted VS buying it from the manufacturer.

I’ve wanted a service cart for a long time, and finally due to actually having some space I grabbed one which obviously fits the motif well.

Combined with my smaller compressor and this newly acquired Regid shop vac for a steal created a solid mobile operation.

Oh and about those new recycling boxes.....

I’m thinking this putz is an Amazon delivery guy. Couldn’t believe it....A sea of fresh white powder and he nails my recycling box.

I get UPS drivers confusing me instead of hitting stuff.

Got the package notification that it was delivered to my doorstep... got home and couldn't figure out where the hell it went.

had to go back and look at the video.

That cart is a good idea! Ordered two carts, but didn't think about putting a vac in the cart. Might need a third one :D

Just realized i haven't updated since my Heater was finally connected.
Lennox LF25 60,000 BTU's = game changer :) Been waiting for this day since getting possession of our new home. Thanks to a good friend for helping this actually happen through sourcing the actual unit, helping with install, arranging for gas guy and roofers for venting. Certainly enjoyed this process and learned a lot throughout. Happy to have had a hand on anything that was actually done to the garage throughout this process.

Awesome progress on the new garage in such a short time. Your last 2 garage builds were great to follow, this one is no different.

That ***** about the new recycle bins, it was kinda like he wasn't even looking?

Happy to hear you also enjoyed my last two creations  Yea i think he wasn't paying attention. When zooming in i could see him look and think, "oh well, looks fine".

Fantastic job in the garage dubber. You have come along way in such a short time.

 Appreciate you continuing to keep tabs on my progress.

Dubber, let me add to the chorus and say great job, I'm enjoying watching your new garage come together so quickly, and hopefully getting motivated to finally sort out my small 2 car this spring.

We're in the market for a new daily for the wife and the Golf Sportwagen is on the list. I know you're enjoying yours, and was wondering if you'd mind giving some advice on what to look for in a 2016-2017 edtion.

Thanks in advance!

Hell yeah!! I can only imagine how much of a game changer having heat in the garage must be. I'm hoping to insulate the attic space of my garage sometime over the summer, then install a mini-split ideally in the fall. Gotta keep the M3 nice and toasty during the winters, amiright?!

Happy to hear that i may be a small factor to motivate you with your space.

As for the Sportwagen, i have to say its one of my favourite of the 13 vehicles i've owned. Its truly a stout, good-looking, workhorse. Always wanted a nice wagon since i was a young kid hanging in the our family Volvo 850 wagon and funny enough my first car was an 88 Taurus wagon. Not a looker but damn that was handy. This car was our transition out of our Diesel Jetta, which i loved, but VW had amazing sorry money to try a new car. Blitzed the car with mods during the first week of ownership which in my opinion transformed the look. I love having such a useful car that gets continuous waves from fellow euro enthusiasts. Also tend to gravitate towards the key for this car despite always having another faster and more iconic car parked beside it. Since i see that you are in Canada i can provide more applicable information. Mine is a 2017 with 4motion, which i believe was the first year it was offered here. Comfortlevel is the trim that i chose which has since changed, it was the middle level, with optional pano sunroof. A main issue these have had is with water leaking unfortunately through the sunroof, thankfully i haven't experienced that. The 4motion system is incredibly stable and provides tons of confidence when combined with winter tires no matter the conditions provided by mother nature. Shoot me a message if you need any other info.

This pic was from a trip last year to wine country, Niagara-on-the-lake.

And a few other fun ones

Hahaha, sorry about that. :)

Love this, looks great! Keep up the great work!!!

Edit: BTW, very cool selection of cars you have :thumb up:

Envious, It looks fantastic and a place you want to come out to and work in!

Appreciate it, truly. Even when i don't have a project in mind I find myself just walking out and sitting down enjoying the space.

Agreed! Not sure the temps out your way but we get some extreme cold which meant beyond enjoyment and usefulness, i would have to bring in all my cleaning products, which isn't ideal.

I can see that. The extra foot or so in "trunk" space is very useful. I've made mine kinda look like an R though :) To be honest i was close to getting an R, at the time i also had an R32, but thankfully my wife persuaded me towards the wagon which really has become her vehicle.

Thanks for the info Dubber, it is greatly appreciated as are the new pics.

Mpower, I think it's coming down to a Sportwagen or an e91. The Sportwagens are easier to find around here, but I do like the E91. Thanks to you and Dubber for providing such great pics of your wagons.

I'm not eager to get rid of our 2000 1.8T Golf GLS, but it seems the time has come for a refresh. Even at 20 years it still drives as well as many new cars, especially since I finally got around to installing the 20th AE springs and Bilsteins in the fall. At least it's got a better stance now for sale. :)

Those Mk4’s are beasts, and if you keep up with the quite simple maintenance they can last a long time. I miss the ease of adding power to those engines; tune, intake and exhaust and you’ve almost doubled output. Sounds like the stance is spot on. I’ve had a mix of suspension set-ups on that platform which included ST Coilovers, Bilstein Coilovers, and Eibach sport springs.

Although having the cavities above the garage doors looked good in white, decided to go with consistency and painted them grey to match the walls. Once this was done I was able to finally install the third opener. My new home thankfully came with two Liftmaster 8500 openers on the outside two smaller doors, but the larger center door was left manual. Again, thankfully it was properly set-up having an outlet to accommodate a future opener. Ended up getting a solid deal on a Chamberlain RJ020C which after much research is basically the same thing. Also hadn’t known that Chamberlain seems to be the parent company of Liftmaster.

Anyway, I installed it and now onto the pics.

I'm impressed with the self-install Dubber, my experience with garage doors has always been the service companies making it seem like rocket science and that if you don't do it right your whole house might fall down. Our current opener is quite long in the tooth and if it's not opened for a couple of days, the door starts with a quick spring, then seems to hesitate while the slack in the flexible track bounces up and down, before settling into it's path. Thinking that it's time for a service or upgrade, and having extremely limited space in my small 2-car, I like the idea of one of these side lifts. I see Costco.ca has them for $460, about $100 less than everywhere else. Where did you source yours? And is the install fairly straight forward?

Back to the car search, it seems we may have found a car in between Mpower's '07 E91 and your Sportwagen. We've found a white 2011 Golf Wagon 2.5L in pristine condition, with only 88,000 km on it, which for me is barely broken in. It was traded into a BMW dealership for a larger Genesis sedan by an older couple, shows like new and is only $8900. We've got a 48 hour hold on the car but based on it's condition and the lack of wagons on the market, I think this may be my wife's new daily. I have to admit, I'm hoping to have the white paint sparkle like yours!

I will never have an overhead garage door opener ever again!

You and me both!!

Hahaha, low key searches at this point.

This was my first opener install going at it solo and must admit, it went better than anticipated. I believe beyond the superior format, these are simpler to install than an overhead unit. Yet another positive. Chamberlain has a couple YouTube tutorial videos that really provides a solid step-by-step to tackle it. As for pricing, yes Costco for Canadians is the best price, which is where I was going to grab mine from. Canadian Tire happened to have a great sale on as well, and once combined with gift cards I had set aside, it came to only $300, which was a steal for this unit.

Sounds like a great deal on your new ride. I had a 2010 Golf and my wife was initially very sad to see it go. Those 5cyl engines provide a good mix of power and economy. I’m sure she will be happy with her new ride.

My 2010 Golf Comfortline:

Spending the day today taking my new set-up for its first test drive and bringing the wagon back to Pure White. With the recent move and all the extra hours poured into the creation of the new shop, the cars have been sadly neglected.

Those pics right there show a dream garage. Great new pics of the wagon. Even though we'll be sporting a previous gen Sportwagen, your example shows something to aspire to.

Thanks, that single started my passion, and tons of lessons were learned there.

Stop posting pictures of this Garage and installs and products in it. My wallet and wife do not like it one bit!
It's not so bad if you read the posts real quick and don't dwell on the photos. Sadly it prevents me from posting here as much as I'd like. It also means my wife thinks I was looking a **** when I close it fast as she sneaks up behind me. When I try to explain Garage **** she gives me that look and clucks.
