Bob and Greyghost avert your eyes..... :lol_hitti

This addition is something i've wanted in my garage for several years but it never made sense until now. Having heat now in place the garage is a comfortable temperature to add this item.

Simply sublime setup.

Thanks as always Rick. Appreciate you stopping by to check out the updates.

Nespresso is an awesome product, which for coffee drinkers i would highly recommend. We have always had one in the house for several years. I think ever since i first heard Penelope say their name, i was interested

Do you have a water line out there? If so your going to need a wash sink.

I do have a hose bib, but no drain i could easily tie into. Or else i would definitely have a sink out there.

This, now this... this is heaven... I'd lean more towards wrenching than detailing, so it would be a lot more work to keep the garage this clean. But those cabinets, the countertop, the floor and the Nespresso Machine (I've got the same one, but in black), man... I WANT THIS!

PS: You're only missing some Caramel and Vanilla :) How do you like those Ristretto Intenso and Origin?

Dubber, you really know how to hurt a guy. You have the minimalist color and design coordinated coffee bar in your garage and I have the junkyard refugee coffee bar. I make a fresh 12-cup pot, drink a third (2 mugs) and reheat it for the next two days. Start with fresh-ground Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and it still tastes good(?) on the third day. Liane gets a fresh half-decaf (4-cup) cinnamon/vanilla super sweet super light drink in a 24-ounce Tervis Tumbler.

Yea my wrenching is limited to car mods, and wheel swaps. Normal maintenance i leave in the capable hands of one mechanic. Haven't tried the flavour ones yet but the Ristretto Intenso is one of my favs thus far. Placed a larger order after trying a few.

Quite the set-up you have, looks like you could handle a whole team. Neither my wife or i drink a ton of coffee, a cup a day or so. And we both different types; black for me, flavoured for her. This is where the pod technology comes into play perfectly. On a side note i do also appreciate the recycling program that Nespresso has set-up to deal with the waste.

I just sit back in the audience and watch your build, but your comment about the recycling program for the coffee pod made me think of my little strainer. I use a metal/plastic strainer that goes in the Keurig of ours and I just put a tea bag in there for my glass of tea. I don't drink coffee but the oldest daughter has developed the habit. I think when the little pods of hers disappears I'm going to just buy her a container of coffee so she can just use the strainer like I do. It beats the waste that those pods create.

Being I do a lot of messy mechanic jobs in the garage I couldn't keep mine that clean but I'm slowly but surely getting my more cleaner and organize! With the painting I'm doing I've found myself cleaning the garage more to reduce the clutter and area for dust to settle. Even been looking at getting a mop and bucket setup for the garage!

I've heard from a lot of people actually who use the Keurig in their own DIY way which is pretty cool for sure.

I like the coffee set up but I would use a keggerator more in my garage.

Hahaha, yea i'm sure. The full sized fridge works perfectly to hold my favourite selection of hops.

Perfect!

Well this weekend was like Christmas for me. I've been building towards this moment since taking possession on December 3rd. Performed a mid-winter decontamination of both cars in the new space, and man was it fun. New equipment and space performed flawlessly.

Actually it's not much of a DIY since the strainer was made for the appliance. Just picked a couple of them up for roughly $3 I think? You just put whatever flavor of coffee you want to use in it and put it in the machine like a pod. Since I use a tea bag it makes it easier cleaning it out. But I'm sure dumping coffee ground out and rinse with a little water isn't too hard. Then dump the grounds in your flower beds and yard and enjoy the nutrition instead of sending the ground to the landfill.

As for your wash bay that's pretty pimp there! Where are you getting your information about cleaning car and making it a easier job?

Thanks  I've been detailing cars on the side for a number of years, but there are always amazing resources available through YouTube such as White Details and Ammo that do an amazing job breaking down the process. Or even Clean Wagen :)

I came to this forum years ago after seeing the bimmer basement. i then found your double garage and i love how clean and simple it is with such a big impact.

and then the 3.0 is just on another level. super jealous of the set up and space you have. its so clean and tidy.

pure inspiration. thank you, and keep up the good work!!

I completely agree. I really like how you've done your garages, dubber! One advantage you seem to have, it seems you have good storage elsewhere in your home that allows you to minimize the garage becoming a dumping ground. It seems I'm constantly fighting the Mrs. and my son to keep my space free of "other stuff".

Question for you on the RaceDeck Free Flow. Are you pleased with the decision to go Free Flow? Do you ever find yourself frustrated by dropping, and subsequently losing a screw or washer into the floor? Also, when washing your cars, do you find them to be slippery? I love the look, just a bit concerned about the livability.

Keep up the great work!

so when you are washing your cars, does the floor drain out of the door? I don't recall seeing any floor drains in the bays.

Yes thats correct, down the pitch of the pad to and out the garage door. Leave it open a couple inches

Yes a few advantages in terms of garage organization: No kids, wife who is on the same page, and have a basement. I'll be adding a shed to our new home this spring. I had one at our last place and its certainly necessary to hold bikes, and lawn equipment.

Yes i am happy with the performance of my FreeFlow tiles. This is the third garage i've used this same style of RaceDeck flooring. I've yet to lose a screw or washer, if dropped i just pick it up. Maybe twice in a number of years one fell through, i simply grab a magnet. I appreciate the design to allow water to flow through and let the top surface dry much quicker.

Looks great Dubber! Getting my amped up to do my own finish on a garage. Getting ready to move from NY to Southern Virginia in 90 days. Your doing a great job and fast hopefully I can be as motivated as you are when I get those keys. I'm going from a triple to a single-double? (house has a single then a double off the same parking area but not connected/hard to explain unless I just did).

Anyway killer job as always. Hopefully I get to take my race deck like you did!

 many thanks. Just found your thread, looks great. Yea that is certainly a positive aspect of this type of flooring that you can bring it with you. Luckily in our seller's market i was able to have it listed as an exclusion and saved me tons of $$ creating my new space.

Keeping my eyes peeled for your new thread

Full disclosure time, am I the only one that finds myself standing in the garage and simply looking and evaluating every nook and cranny? :headscrath:

Well during one of my most recent sessions, i realized it would be a great idea to add another cord reel on the other side of the center garage door. Now have one on each side to grab when needed. Practical, and out of the way!

Fwwf, happy to hear i'm not alone.... If anyone else is interested these are $65 Canadian and sourced on Amazon. One i've had for a few years in my old garage and it just made sense to get the same. Already put it to use yesterday which made a detail session just that much easier, and more fun.

Is it just me or is that mounted upside down? I always try to place the opening in the real nearest to the directions ill be pulling from. BTW, the garage is looking great! I like the simple color scheme and organization.

I was curious if someone would see that :) Yea they were installed "upside down" on purpose solely for cord management. Function equally well both ways after a few tests  And thanks!

Dubber, you are not alone and I did more of that when I first moved into this house almost 24 years ago. Unfortunately 58 years of marriage brings with it a lot of baggage that is hard to throw away so my 3-car is the hoarder version of yours.

I never know if I'm going to back the car in or drive it in so my droplight/extenstion cord reel is closer to the middle of the bays in the ceiling. The two don't match because they were purchased so many decades apart. The 25-foot air hose reel and air shower ended up close to the droplight in the first bay for the same reason.
attachment.php

When I replaced the 25-foot air hose reel with a 50-footer next to the compressor the 25-footer ended up at the other side of the garage. Between them there's always an air hose in easy reach.

I do this all the time but my reasoning is to see what tool, cabinet, or wood storage I can fit. :bounce:

Excellent use of those pull down reels, that provide you tons of options. One of the benefits/negatives regarding the design of this garage was that it was initially set-up for Liftmaster side mounts meaning no plugs were added on the roof. For now i'm trying to leave that free of any additions beyond the extra lights i've added.

P.S. I'm sure living in the same spot for 24 years certainly has an impact on the accumulation of "stuff". I've actually never lived anywhere for longer than 5 years, my whole life lol. Must be a contributing factor to my streamlined set-ups.

Good idea on mounting the reels up high. I may steal this as I wanted capability to go 50’ into the back lane if need be. No need to have it down low for the amount I will need it.

Thus far it seems to have been the perfect spot. Definitely benefiting from having an outlet on the top of each pillar.

Finally catching up on your thread, and I gotta say seeing you wash a car in your garage gave me mild anxiety! I'd be afraid I'd get everything wet, including the walls, and encourage mold growth. I'm assuming your garage has a slope though :D

Anyhow, everything is really coming together well. Nicely done

Pictures can be deceiving.... no anxiety should be felt. Designed the space to wash in the very middle which gives me 6 feet before the rear door, over 8 feet in front and over 13 feet space on each side. Way more than enough room for over spray. Pad was sealed and water flows out the pitch of the floor.

First time having three cars in the garage which was amazing to see space-wise. Still so much room, I can't believe it!
This weekends project will be to detail this beautiful (well it will be) 2019 Audi S5 Sportback.

My area was walloped with quite the storm yesterday and as a result the
frozen beast now gets to defrost in the garage. Thankful to have heat!
