Will you make the buyer buy if they realize it's a (their) mistake at the end of the auction?
how do you make someone buy something?

I sell empty boxes on EBay and make a good penny on them, too...

God, those boxes are going for a ton... Nobody must read!
If something is advertised and correctly described, then it is the buyers problem to become educated on what market is, not the seller.
Unless you are a flipping socialist, it is nobody's place to tell what someone is to sell their own property for. It is easy to whine and snivel pointing out over priced stuff, but the end it is between that buyer and that seller and nobody else's business.
It is not my place as a seller if some naive or social retard wants to over bid or over pay for my stuff. If you have family or friends that are naive or social retards that can not ascertain what market is of something, then they need to stay off the internet.
People have a twist sense of what a true "rip off" is. Someone overpaying or over bidding on accurate and honestly described items on ebay is not a rip off.

Thats not a ripoff, a ripoff would be selling you that box and sending you something else, or claiming this box is something that it is not
Theres nothing misleading here, its just overpriced
Check out my ad for an Iphone 4 "box only". People are bidding $300 for an empty box
Exactly
There is no false advertising, for some reason people want empty boxes
The bid history on that is highly suspicious. Stupid LOL, but still looks non kosher.
how do you make someone buy something?
Wow, what a bunch of whiners in this thread. There is nothing deceptive about selling an empty box if you call it an empty box.
If you imtentionally target those "retards " as you call them, then I think your point of view totally stinks. Ask an honest buck and expect an honest buck.
............................
Selling an empty cell phone box under the category "cell phones and smart phones" is a scam. Putting "16GB" in the description is misleading. This type of activity is meant to mislead and deceive.
If the seller wanted to be honest, he would go the extra to make sure the buyer know its just an empty box. Apparently ebay needs an empty box category to keep people honest.
The way people treat each other is disturbing.
I used to sell new knives on ebay. I saw the exact same knife that I was selling and they were bidding the snot out of it. I believe it was up to twenty some dollars. I felt I had to email the high bidder (at that point) and tell him it was a $5 knife. He let the auction go and bought all the remaining knives I had for $5 each. I couldn't save everyone but I felt better at the time. FYI, I had about 7 of those knives that he bought.

Hey you could all be wrong and it could be some college student doing an experiment to see how high the bidding will go on an empty box.
The person doing the experiment has their highest bidding price set at a ridiculous number so it just keeps going up and up till it ends. No harm no foul...just sayin'... that could be the case too and everyone is jumping to the conclusion that it some deviant behind the ad...
However, it most probably is a deviant! LOL
It sold for $405. You're going to have one angry buyer. Does it even make sense to do this?Thats not a ripoff, a ripoff would be selling you that box and sending you something else, or claiming this box is something that it is not

So now what, you lie too?By all means, report me to eBay, send the wrath of the banhammer on me.
Search iPhone box and report the hundred others selling iPhone empty boxes too.
Sadly, I don't actually sell things on eBay, my eBay username is fwd_deej, feel free to report me anyway.
Obviously. This is the Internet. So now what, you lie too?

Now I must go use the restroom, I had an elephant for lunch

There are some things that are illegal, but there are some things that are unethical! I know that it is a buyer beware on ebay. RV , go the extra mile, do the ethical thing and remind your bidders that it is just a box, you would appreciate that if you were in their shoes, nobody in right mind would pay that amount for an ipad box! Allow bidders to drop out of bid, unless they indeed are insane and want to pay 375 for a box!
Be careful what you buy on e bay, the guy in the link is selling a $400 Sams Club work bench for $788.

sorry, but i would like to bring this thread back to the beginning.
i looked through the entire thread and (and on Sam's) but i did not see where you could purchase this work bench for $400.00.
anyone have a link?
