We put our order in yesterday for the Eagle Grip pliers. Malco says they have them in stock and will start shipping them out at the beginning of May.

Pricing?
Not to rain on anybody's parade but when Milwaukee's Vise Grips go for $13 (and they're pretty damn good) I can't see spending 2.5X for the Eagle Grip unless they leap tall buildings on a single bound.
Where did you find this? This is what we're planning on selling them at unless they try and enforce MAP pricing.
LP7R - $34.95
LP7WC - $33.95
LP10R - $38.95
LP10WC - $36.95
LP11C - $49.95
LP11SP - $51.95

When do you think they will be available for sale on your website?
I find the prices to be very reasonable.
I have handled the SO branded version, and they are without a doubt the nicest locking pliers I have ever touched. The fit and finish is top notch, the plating is very clean and shiny, they have the feel and action of a well machined product.
And Knipex charges more than $40 for a pair of pliers, so I don't see how Malco's pricing is out of line for a top shelf, USA made product.
I refuse to participate in the race to the bottom...

I've got a decent collection of old Petersen Vise Grips so I was curious about these but the prices are way out of line.
You can get locking pliers made in Germany, Austria and Japan, by top brands like Knipex, Gedore and KTC for 1/2 the price.
There is something seriously wrong with American productivity and manufacturing capability.
$22USD for the 10": https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001P0C2U/?tag=atomicindus08-20
$18USD in Germany: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0001P0C2U/
I may not beat up a pair of Pliers Wrench, but locking pliers were never a "high end" kind of plier and I'd beat on these Knipex.
Malco is saying orders will be shipping May 3rd.
Your math isn't exactly correct with your "other" brands being supposedly 1/2 the price. And where does one find KTC locking pliers besides e-bay, where they are $40+ after shipping?
Gedore:
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B001N3IY92/
19.57 euro including 19% VAT, 16.45 euro without VAT so 19.66 USD.
malco teeth are good design .
i can see prices getting better by 10-20% in time but if it a proper made effort it be worth some extra cost .
The western companies and governments have made some serious errors chasing profit and short term low cost with cheapest production not caring about long term consequences and turning blind eye to health and safety, environmental damage and cheap labour that almost slavery .
Building up production and product marketing from almost scratch is a tough and costly exercise ...
Facom are nice. Proto rebrands them. They're very expensive though and sizes are limited.
i'm in the market for some good locking pliers. i almost bought a set of tektons (which seem good for the money), but it looks like i'll finally be able to get these.
are there any other top brands of locking pliers to consider? any COO is fine for me (even china) if they're top quality. otherwise i'm just going to get some of these.
thanks guys

I’m in agreement here. I’ve been following this thread since the beginning for the most part but the pricing will stop me from purchasing. The $7 Bremen’s are 1/4 of the price, made in Taiwan, and have a similar adjusting knob and instead of Malco’s hex key adjustment the Bremen’s are set up for a 1/4 drive ratchet. I’ve got a dozen Peterson Vise Grips, but those were priced more reasonably. I can’t justify the price.

I'll be getting a pair or two at least. Those will be the "good ones" while the cheap/junk ones will be the disposable ones that I use to clamp stuff "temporarily" for 5 years because I'll get distracted from that particular project.![]()
