Well finally some more progress. Time to get it leveled . This table weighs about 450# and is impossible to move with 2 guys .

So my Son-in-law brought over one of his loaders . This made the move super easy . We were able to lay it flat on 2 dollies and then wheel it out of the garage onto the driveway where he picked it up with a set of forks . Next we just drove it on the trailer and dropped it off at the place where we got the slabs from .

I’ve included some pictures of a few of the slabs this gentleman has . It’s awesome to walk around and look at everything. Let’s hope I can get it back next week.

Well the table is home and the sanding begins.
I’ve tried to get quotes from 3 places on legs and it seems nobody has enough time to do them .
I thought about it and came to a conclusion that I should order them .
Let me know what you think ! Remember my Son in law is an Arborist so I picked something that looked like a Tree . If they don’t like them we can change them out next year .

I would make a base for it but that is up to what you like. I always feel if someone is willing to do all the work on the table top the job should continue with the base, but I do know other options are popular

Looks awesome.

Farm out the legs and get it done. The work required for the top is very different than the legs, so I wouldn't lump them together.

The table is cut to the final dimensions and the edges are routered with 1/8” round over bit . The top was rough sanded with 40 grit.

I then flipped it over to the bottom side which ended up having a lot more damage.
I learned a valuable less in which more than a couple of you warned me about.

i should have made a small pour on the large cracks on both slabs but I did a deep pour of almost 3” and it didn’t work out as well . I did 3 pours on the middle river and had just small bubbles. The pictures tell it all . Some of the voids were big and deep . All filled in with CA glue . There will be a lot more sanding on this side . I might even try my belt sander .

Well almost done . The table is sanded to 220 . The river will get sanded to 600 . Now I just need a nice day to apply the stain .

Most of my time has been helping the kids with their house and trying to Bow hunt . It’s been way too warm .

The time frame for the flooring is 2 weeks so the table should be in place in early November.

Well got the bottom side done with one coat on .
The top I will take it one step further and water pop it to open the grain a little.

The lighting in the garage is poor for pictures. Can be too bright at times .
I used Natura one coat clear oil no tint .
It’s a two part finish just like Rubio MonoCoat.

Looks like that worked out well for you
I have learned a lot in the process . My daughter has already come up with two other projects for me to do . My answer to her was “ As long as you pay for it “ lol 😂

The wife is happy the garage will be cleaned up . Even though I had a dust collector on my shop vac there is still a fine dust kicked out of the sander . Her cars paid for it .

Final product is setup and ready to use !
My Daughter and her husband are very pleased. It was an excellent learning experience and I’m planning on doing some more projects.

Nice deer and I really like that table, usually not a fan of the river table but you struck a good balance on the amount of epoxy you used.
