I sent an email on Saturday to cancel my order as it is taking too long without ANY communication from them. Didn't get a reply to that either but maybe it went to the wrong email???

I don't mind waiting but there hasn't been any notification if something was backordered or what?????

Really? We swamp a small family owned store with 200+ orders in one day in the spirit of Independance day and you can't cut them a little slack? Wow. Glad I don't have to try and please you.

Hopefully only one like this out of 200-plus who have had, again, one heck of a good time.

Nah, just be passive-aggressive and belligerent and try to contact them on the weekend while they're trying to spend time with their families. They're not people after all, they are our servants.

Dubbydoo,

Those Wilde scrapers are the best I've found. I use them in the woodshop, excellent glue scrapers. The straight one will take an edge good enough for detail work.

I would like to see Epstein's incorporate some sort of product rating system in the web site. There are a few things they carry people don't realize how good they are for purposes other than maybe is intended.

Got my little package yesterday, thanks for the additional items.

Mike,

Going into Epstein's Day I had to make a decision which was, do I take a few days and contact every single person and let them know about the status of their order, or do I get busy packing everything up and assume that guys would know that it is going to take us longer than normal to contact/ship. I chose the latter, because I figured guys would rather have me packing their orders and getting them out the door.

This is why we waited a week to contact anyone about their order, unless of course, there was a backorder. By that time, you had already sent us an email and to let us know you wanted your order cancelled, which we did. I assumed you were in a hurry for your stuff, and now, because of a time constraint, didn't need it anymore. I was so busy packing boxes, that I didn't send you a follow up email.

Normally we pride ourselves on our quick shipping ability and our communication with our customers, but one (maybe the only one) disadvantage to doing something like an Epstein's Day, is that we temporarily lose our ability to be able to communicate in an efficient manner with each customer. Hope you understand, and I'm sorry if it caused you any inconvenience.

Got my stuff yesterday.

Decided to try some quality air hammer bits. Also filled in some holes in my impact sockets and picked up some Channellock 424's since the 426 has proven to be my most-used pliers (although the 424 is a bit smaller than I expected... should still be useful). I wanted to keep the order all USA, but I couldn't resist those Knipex pliers. I need more ratchets like I need a hole in the head, but I read rave reviews on here about the "aerospace" ratchets so I thought I'd pick 'em up... very nice, possibly my new favorites. Also picked up one of the "seconds" combination squares.

Thanks for the goodies... t-shirt, Wright and Channellock stickers, screwdriver, picture, and Jawn-tag.

We should start our own thread, heck this board has harbor freight thread going on. You are right the they carry tons of stuff most aren't aware of.

I got mine today, as promised. Sorry no pics it's all in the shop already. :)

Thanks for the Channellock hat and sticker and the sharpening puck, I've already regifted the hat to my Dad, put the sticker on the new toolbox and have plans to use the puck on my splitting maul and maybe my hydraulic splitter too!

Not cool, IMO.

This day is to support THEM, not get frustrated when a box of tools doesn't show up quickly despite knowing that they are working their butts off to deal with hundreds of new orders.

If you need a new wrench to adjust a pacemaker valve, don't go through HJE on Epstein's Day. If you are adding tools to your collection to be used as needed and without any sense of urgency, then ED is a good choice.

Got my order and man oh man at the freebies. WOW! Thank you HJE!

Ordered:
Armstrong 3/8" flex ratchet
Wright 1/4" flex driver, 4mm socket and 5.5mm socket
Channellock cable cutter and 4" mini plier

Free:
Armstrong T shirt
Wright T shirt
Wright sticker
Channellock hat
Channellock sticker
Channellock right angle pliers
Cartoon post card
Sharpening stone
TXBONDS brass tag

On top of that the Snap On folks sent me a 1/2" Williams USA flex head ratchet as a thank you for being patient with a few socket finish issues. It was way over the top and unexpected as they also replaced the sockets right away too. Williams USA has a customer for life as well as Tools Delivered which instigated the process for me and HJE for the above over the top freebies. I'm a happy camper. :)

Got my shipping notice today! Delivery next tuesday. Yeah !! :rocker:

I too ordered a pair of the Wilde scrapers. I don't actually have a need for them, but decided to get them to try them out as a curiosity (maybe it will stop me from using my screwdrivers). I'm glad to see the comments here about them, it's encouraging.

Got my shipment yesterday. Didn't take pics till today.
6 mm 3/8 long socket
3/8 Armstrong aerospace ratchet
Red white and blue craftsman screwdriver set
Wilde 36"prybar
Channellock 911
4 lb hammer
1 1/2 3/8 extention

So far I love the ratchet. So many teeth, and is comfortable to hold. The screwdrivers also got used right away. The handles are very comfortable.
The box art was unexpected. I asked for something related to craftsman. Instead I got kraft's men. Like the cheese. Lol. I cracked up for a couple minutes straight. Thank you hje for doing a great job packing and for all the freebees

^^^^^ Thus taking time away from a small staff processing orders, making the whole process take longer.

I think the whole point of Epstein's Day was lost on this one.

But this is 2014 and everything must be NOW, NOW, NOW. Who cares if it's 200 orders and a few people in a small store. They should have had it all out the door on the July 5th.

:dunno: Seems fair to me.

Didn't need any Channellock stuff at the moment but I wish I had thrown something on the order for the hat and sticker. Man I'm pathetic.

I hate all of you. ;). Still patiently waiting here.

yeah, what he said. I got a call on my voicemail last Saturday, explaining that they were waiting for a Williams wrench. I was going to add two more clamps to my order, but when I called Tuesday, darned if my order hadn't gone out the door that morning. :eyecrazy: mild bummer.

I guess I'll just have to make another order in a couple of months, get some of the Wilde scrapers everybody is hot on , the flex Armstrong ratchets I want, a Council tools axe, some other goodness.

darn, the agony of it all. :willy_nil

I'm looking forward to doing business with HJE again. Oh, and to posting pics, figure my order will likely arrive tomorrow, perhaps Monday.

Got my order, today!

Thanks HJE!

The only weird thing is that brass tag says "CORREY" and when I looked up the name, it doesn't exist here on GJ... and that's not my name, haha.

Filled in some gaps in the tool box, replaced some broken items, and got some cool freebies all while supporting a small business and US tool makers. Love dealing with these guys.

I think I have the solution to this. I just placed another order (#27856) to replace this one... Jori - Don't change a thing!

I had to add another one of those Armstrong flex ratchets to the collection as well as those Wilde scrapers everyone is showing off...
