.......When I get back from Jersey on the 14th, I'm going to start an erection that is going to last more than 4 hours.
And you tell us to get our minds out of the gutter!

Just saw this today and read through the whole thing. Caught my eye because I am trying to move out of FL, to WA maybe, and also have a lot of weight to move in my shop.
I am currently across the river from you in St Johns County. I drive past your place a few times a month on the way to Palatka where we have a few acres.
If you can get the shell base for a good price, it is probably worth it. I assume its coming from the pit in Hastings. Grade it right the first time, after its is rolled it is HARD. Can't remember if its dusty when dry, I have only used it on one project. As a bonus you can often times find large sharks teeth that made it through the crushers, like 2"-4".
4 hours erections, head on straight. Need this thread listed at MA. [emoji15]
Gator-J you might want to reach out to Toolfool. He just moved from WA to FL
Mack glad project is moving forwards. A little rain would make the compaction even better.
When you start setting steel, I’m sure some of us could come over and help....sit in chairs, drinking beer and supervising. Lol. Of course I’d be there in a safety capacity.

Ohhh I wanna help
Now that we got everyone's head out of the gutter we can move forward.
Oh, I can see it now. I'll be working my *** off and you, Gerard, Craig, and anyone else you can get to come along and harass me will be sitting in comfy chairs with a cold brew telling me "A little bit more to the left Mac"
. I would call it motivational supervision giving you helpful suggestions to complete the task at hand. [emoji481]
Mac, things are looking good.
I love seeing a contractor just get after it.
If I make it up while your building, the peanut gallery will be occupied by others.
I have a spud wrench, alignment punches and a couple of BFH if needed.
Thanks Willie, do you plan on helping me get some work done or do you want to help the beer drinking peanut gallery?

..... the air conditioned motivational supervision booth where beer and wings will be served by Hooters girls that Gerard has so graciously agreed to pay for.
Your panel mount looks familiar
Subscribed!
I was also born in Plainfield NJ, though 20 years after you Mac, and I bought a Walker Turner drill press for the same reason!
I'm very jealous of your property size and looking forward to watching the construction progress!
Very similar indeed Larry.
I just got the meter base/Distribution panel installed tonight. I'll be meeting with the PM and the electrical contractor tomorrow or Monday to make sure we are all on the same page.
I'll be pulling the permit for the shop and he will pull the permit for the house.
With any luck the electricians and plumber will start their under slab rough ins tomorrow so we can place concrete on Monday.
I just realized that I don't have my hitch tube pockets to go in the shop floor fabricated yet, it's going to be a busy weekend.

That backboard looks like it'll hold up to some wind!
I like the 12oz level you're using.![]()
Moving right along.
Craig that might be a 16 or 20oz. Level. Lol.

Nice to see things taking shape. Good luck on mondays pour
1" from both slabs to a J-box at the meter base.
House slab to Junction box, shop slab to same Junction box
Ok, just to clarify things. The level in the picture is a 12oz level but it is defective. I took it out of it's package brand new, but it immediately lost 1/2 of it's contents and became a 6oz level. By the time I got the second bolt hole drilled, it lost all of its contents and there was no bubble to read. It took almost three brand new 12oz levels to get that meter base installed. I briefly considered getting a bigger level (i.e. the 16 or 20oz variety) but I don't think they hold up too well in the heat without special insulation that I don't currently have access to.
Having not messed with survey data in awhile, it was nice dusting off the brain cells and doing the contours.
I guess they weren't too dusty because you did a hello a job on it, thank you
How are you filling it?
I put it in my truck and take to work and fill it then use the bobcat to take it out of the truck and put it up on top of the container.
With the patio setup you have, looks like you’re ready for visitors.
Don't you mean visiting WORK CREWS?

It has been my experience that those type of levels the more you use the more inaccurate they become. Must be a quality control issue.
