Go further back in time. We won WW2 largely because of our ability to out produce the Germans and Japanese. Wonder what would happen now if we got into a scuffle with the Chinese or Russians. Who would out produce who?

Best floor jack i've ever had was made in China, its not all junk and is probably entirely up to whoever places the order for the tools. If they want top quality i'm sure China could turn them out.

We could just aim all of our 4000 nuclear weapons at them and tell them to back off! :)

Seriously though, the world is a much smaller place and although anything is possible, China now embraces capitalism so why would they bite the hand that feeds them?

Global trade was not really a large factor between Japan, Germany and the United States during World War II.

Like it or not it probably will be global trade and cooperation that keeps peaceful countries mostly happy with each other.

That is a lie. You know we do this because we want to help China, not to access their untapped market.[emoji13]

It was both, really.

We helped China and the rest of the world, by convincing China that capitalism is way more fun than communism.

Seems to be working, for the most part.

Big article in the local paper about Minnesota manufacturers not being able to grow because they can't find workers and current workers retiring. Many manufacturers are asking workers to delay retirement or continue part time.
