After carrying a Chris Reeve's small sebenza, a Benchmade emissary and a Strider pt, I found my perfect edc knife. Spyderco's carbon fiber Caly 3 has stayed in my pocket for the last three weeks. It features easy one hand opening, looks great, feels great in the hand and comes scary sharp. It is easy to sharpen. The Caly 3 is a completely ambidextrous knife for you lefties out there. At around $130, I think it's close to perfect. You won't want to be rough with it because it looks so nice, but you could because of it's build quality. It features a 3" blade, street legal almost everywhere.

I carry this gerber every day. I like how thick the blade is and how the blade stays sharp for a considerable amount of time. My room mate gave me this knife. He carried it on his couple tours of Iraq (army) and when he gave it to me there was still sand and clay stuck in the knurling in it from that god forsaken place. I would like it either way, but the fact this knife has been places doesnt hurt the cause either.

Got it from the factory gift shop. Well, my sister did on her travels through Europe when I was 13. I don't really have a need for any other knife. Self defense knife sounds like something I'd like but have no idea what I like or want. So, it's just this one, for now.

Every day at the shop i have a Kershaw Leek 60/40 serrated and a Opinel No.8 The Leek was a gift to myself, (bought a large lot for presents, kept one for myself) and the Opinel was a Christmas gift from my Brother. Its one of the Mountain Legends with Edelweiss flowers on it

I don't see many people carry Opinels but they are a pretty rugged and simple little knife. I've carried one since i was about 9 years old and it has yet to let me down. They have a single blade and a simple twisting collar style lock.

I've seen too many "tactical" knives lose extremely small bolts/screws or lose a spring, making them fairly useless. These things have nothing that can shake loose or fall off

Kershaw Volt II with serrated blade.

I bought my first one at Bass Pro (had a grey blade), had it about a year and lost it. Bought another one on Amazon (black blade, like the one pictured). Of course, the day the new one arrived, I found the "lost" one under a couch cushion that I swear I checked ten different times.
Oh well, you know what they say- Two is one, and one is none

It's a great knife- the assisted open is fast and smooth, the knife is a great size (a little over 3" on the blade, and pretty slim), and it holds up to a beating pretty well. Also, lifetime warranty.

i like knives. and flashlights. and no matter how hard i try, i can never seem to get them all into one picture, one or two lights are at work, etc.

i think i might have a problem:

been collecting for almost 20 years, nearly all have been carried and used. some were gifts, found knives, etc. not all the highest of quality, but i like em. as far as my 2 favorites, the best pics i have are actually pocket dumps:

kershaw vapor 1640, and CRKT ripple aluminum

Office or dress --> SOG Twitch II, one of the fastest non full auto knives out, yet classy enough to not look threatening. No plastic at all, just a solid little piece.

Caual/dirty work--> CRKT M16 tanto grind, cheap, rugged and very quick with the flipper. I've cut open soup cans with it and no real damage to the blade.

I've got some other ones including leathermans and customs that I have made, but the above 2 are my main EDC knives.

I have too many to figure out which is my favorite. When I wear slacks or a suit I normally have my Sog Blink. Nice, non-threatening pocket knife with assisted opening. With jeans or shorts I normally carry my Benchmade Mini-Barrage. I sprinkle in the others as I get the feeling. Here's a sample of the collection.

Bought a Gerber LMF tactical fighting knife a few years back, this is a picture of it new. It's an awesome knife. I always liked combat knives, but the Kabar I love and am familiar with I feel is too long a blade for easy use, and the Army pilot's survival knife is too short. This is a nice happy medium, sharp blade with rear serrations and a pommel on the rear for splitting skulls (my opinions ). A really good knife and I'm very happy with its performance so far.

Lol sadly no as far as I remember the only orange one I have is a kershaw chubby. Carried it for a while but found it too bulky for what it was. The little spyderco fits in my pocket much better. I'd love to have an orange leek though. Ill have to keep my eyes open for a deal on one

I have had a handful of different knives from kershaw, gerber,buck, esee, victorinox... I love assisted openers but the spring won't last me 6 months. Havent had much luck with liner locks either, smaller knives do better but big ones fail left and right on me with out a safety. And tanto points with no serrations are my favorite blade style. You can put the tip through sheet metal and not have to worry about the point breaking.
