It's definitely a big contrast to the black. Maybe that's why you're not sure.
I don’t think that’s my issue John. I just don’t like the color. I’m going to wait on my decision until the next color is applied. But right now I’m already thinking of a different color to cover the red with.

On my computer that red is showing pretty close to more of an orange color than a deep red...
Jay on the color chart it looked more orange, almost a clay color. I don’t think it was mixed properly. After drying, the paint on the wall doesn’t match the sample I brought home. 🙄

The next color is up. It’s a little too patriotic for my purposes. The red will definitely be painted over. The blue is a little darker in person. That led work light I’m using is really bright.

Nice project, looking to build a small shop as well for woodworking, enough room for saws, planers, etc., keeping vehicle projects in separate room. Looking forward to more hobbies.

Yesterday while working at a customers house, I noticed a “Skin on Frame” kayak that had not been used in a very long time. Long story short, after a conversation with the customer she was ready to let it go. We came to terms and now I have another project 🙄

It’s a 14’ 8” touring kayak constructed with Sitka Spruce and Honduran Mahogany covered in vinyl. It was built in 1975 by a Boy Scout as a merit badge project.

It needs a new skin and a little wood refurbishment. For the short term I think I will strip the skin and assess the wooden frame. Then I will hang it in the shop until I’m ready to restore it.

I took the weekend off from working on the shop, to work in the shop. I used my blast cabinet with my new compressor today for the first time. Wow, what a difference. My cabinet requires 15 CFM and my old compressor would only make 11.5 CFM. The new compressor makes 20 CFM.

I also moved the GMC into the shop since the major construction projects have been accomplished. It’s nice to have all of my trucks indoors.

It’s certainly a long journey John. Hopefully we will be finished soon. How are you feeling these days?
The same, thanks for asking. Still waiting on cardiologist. Have appt Thursday to talk about stress test and Echo results. Probably looking at cath to see what's going on. Not getting much done in the shop. Had to say goodbye to our 11 year old rotti on Memorial Day, so we're kinda in a funk now. Our other dog is having the hardest time adjusting.

This weekend was another distraction from working on the shop.

This maple tree has been on my “to do” list for about 2 years. The roots are running across the ground and heading for the driveway. It also makes it very difficult to mow around and the roots are soaking up all of the water so grass won’t grow underneath the tree. So yesterday after mowing and eating lunch, I broke out my chainsaw.

About halfway through.

With my job disruptions that started mid January, I have struggled to find time to finish the office in the shop. Hopefully tomorrow I will finish the first coat of clear on the slat walls.

But I have been able to get some smaller projects done. One of those projects was to hang some wall decorations. I now have the majority of my larger ones in place. I have a lot of smaller pieces to hang but I will get to them eventually.

The two blue pieces are the original dash and front end of my Land Cruiser that were left over from the rebuild.

I intend to completely populate both dashes as I find the parts.
