Wow, your build is insanely awesome! I had already seen pictures of your garage when I was researching how to fit two cars into a small "2 car garage". But I had no idea where they came from. Needless to say, I'm suitably impressed with your build.

Another Bimmer fan here as well :) Have a Z4 right now and hope to fill the 2nd spot with the new F80 M3. It looks like you have 3 M6 verts and a X6M, is that right?

Fantastic garage and an inspiration

I'm looking to install the same lift and wondered if you could give me some information if you don't mind.

On the cross section you appear to have a blue colored cover, did you have that made or do Bendpak sell it?

Did you have and drainage in the sunken section where the lift fits?

I can't believe I'm going to ask for more pictures :) but do you have any of the lines routing to from the control box to the lift and I'm assuming to both sides?

Thanks again for sharing, my garage will be nowhere near as impressive but I hope to at least be able to borrow a few idea.

I don't think so, but I will try to remember to take some next time I am over there.

I had Bendpak make it for me and paint it to match

Do you know if they offer it to others? I believe they now sell a flush fit version (without the ramps I guess). You would think they would include that piece or at least offer it as a option.

I am not sure if that piece has become part of the end product. It was just something that I designed and drew out and had them make for me.

Do you have a contact at Bendpak that you can please put me or anyone interested in touch with?

I also meant to mention (in case you weren't aware) that both the "Installing the flush mount Bendpak lift (parts 1 & 2)" video links in your footer are not working. They give a "This video is unavailable - sorry about that" message.

The person I deal with over there is JEFF KRITZER. Not sure why those videos aren't working anymore. I will have to see if I still have the originals.

Thanks I will try and contact Jeff as I really think what you did finishes the job nicely. I'm surprised they haven't considered offering that part, given how good it looks.

I wish there were more owners posting on here, so I don't have to keep asking/pestering you. I added to a thread below where there seems to be lots of people who consider installing the lifts, but don't know how many follow through.

Do you happen to know how far the cross section (bottom of the U shape) is from your garage door? If you did it again would you do anything differently regarding the placement of the lift, you appear to have it perfectly placed.

Thanks,
Brian

My lift is in the perfect position for my needs. I have a bunch of cars of different sizes and it works for all of them. Jeff should be able to help you. He's been to some parties at my home and is really a great guy. Where are you located? If you are close by you are welcome to stop by to see the lift in action. I was able to find one of the videos of my lift install and repost it. I can't seem to find the second part...sorry.

Thanks, I'm in NJ otherwise I would have jumped at the chance to stop by.

Your intended use/needs seems very similar to mine so if you have the placement measurements that would be great. I'm going to center left to right but for the front to back it would be great to know the distance from the garage door to the base of the U shape.

OK, this is like way late for a bump, but damn, you knocked it out of the park! Great attention to detail and craftsmanship. One detail I did notice in the read, you said home automation saves energy, but later said you could watch a dvd off of your electric meter? What is that about? Anyway, fantastic build and a tilt of the cap to you sir!

OK. I will measure the opening the next time I am over there.

Hi, Just wondering if you ever got the chance to measure the distance between your sliding doors? In other words how wide did the space between the sliding doors end up being which allowed you to open the door of one of the cars without hitting the other. I currently have installed shelves on both sides which I need to demo and I want to see how deep I can make replacement sliding doors like yours while still leaving room to park two cars front to back like you have.

thanks.

Well, this is SoCal..Last month my electric bill was $1,897.30.

We HATE Socal Edison here in LA. They **** you every chance they get!

Holy ****! My highest bill here in San Antonio has been $175.00. Granted, my home is in the Jurassic age compared to your abode, but damn!

Awesome build and I'm using your great pics as a guide to do my own flush mount of an SP-7X.

One question that's not clear to me on the SP-7X flush mount plans:
The Bendpak plan shows the distance as 2-5/8", but from the pictures below, it looks like some folks are going further back.

Not sure what additional factors would drive the decision to locate it somewhere other than the Bendpak recommendation.

And insight would be appreciated.

Which distance are you asking about?
