Finally organizing everything. That cabinet is the best investment ever. I have another one im placing on top. not the same cabinet but a plastic one.

That mill took me about 10 mins to move 10 feet by myself... damn that things heavy.

I love my new fan I had installed, but it still gets really muggy and hot in the garage, roughly 15-20 degrees hotter than outside.

Im now looking into an exhaust fan setup.

I looked up a calculator, CFM Calc

For my garage, this shows about 2500cfm required. Im stuck between the 16" and 20". The 16 allows me to be just over my rated CFM and also allows slower evacuation of air for certain other times.

This has very good reviews, does anyone know of other fans that might be better at a better price?

having a moisture issue in my air compressor. I have a filter on the outlet, but im still getting steady water at my tools. I drain the compressor also...

Im thinking about taking my air line and running it up about 10 feet then back down to work as sort of a trap and send moisture back to the AC.

Any idea if this would work?

not likely water buildup is generally in the tank and at the ends of runs, I typically use a tee at the end of a run and put a quick connect on one side and a drip leg with a valve on the bottom to drain water. Also use valves on the ends of headers to drain water. If you still can't get rid of the water a full system dryer or point of use dryers are your best bet....Auto drains could make the process less tedious.

Yea i dont have any hard line running from the compressor, this one is temporary. waiting for my parents to sell their house and ill get my 80Gal back. This is a small side laying 20gal craftsman. My old one had a cooling element. I will use the T setup when I get the new one piped in.

I was just trying to make a riser and hopefully the moisture would not get over it.

Just went through the thread and the place looks good. What brand/type cabinet is that gray piece you posted (post 51) in July? Looks solid.

I dont know a brand off hand, it came from the machinists house the mill came from. Def a sturdy cabinet. Best 50$ ive spent. Cleaned up a lot of my small heavy items.

I got this all for 200$. Im going to restore the hood and front end as spares for mine.

I already have the cab sold, trading to a guy that has parts for my newest project and some Box bronco axles. I have the axles sold as soon as i get them. So i will be getting the parts to finish my new project, and also making a profit.

Newest project (For SALE)
1956 Ford F100 Panel wagon with Rare aux seat and heater.

Background, this vehicle has sat in a co-workers garage for 20 years, he has never turned the key.

Lubed up the cylinders when I got it home and let them sit a day before I hand cranked it. Found out a valve was stuck, so I pulled the Valve cover to find....
IMG_20141015_182623_045.jpg

I pulled the head and im in the process of cleaning it up.

Ive been busting my but lately at work, which gives me lunch time to browse craigslist... I have an addiction..

I sold the 4 runner I got for free last nnight and tonight im going to pick up my newest toy.

Its a Ammco Coats 5060E tire changer.

Guy wanted 1k and i threw him a low ball at 600. he called me 2 weeks later to pick it up.

Dnno where Im gonna put it, but im sick of doing tires by hand. I must have done 20-30 tires my hand in the last 2 months... That work out puts P90X to shame

Picked it up the other night, Coats 5060E Can do 24" rims and up to 50" tires.

tested it before buying, has a small air leak but it works just fine.

My buddy is bringing my engine hoist back tonight so we can get it out of my truck and mounted in the shop.

First victim will be a 16.5" Rim 44" tire.

I wanna see if this thing can do what the manufacturer says.

Ive wanted a tire machine for years :rocker::rocker:

Got it in the garage no problem. The P/O had these wooden casters from a couch that he had it mounted on and I asked them if i could steal them from his trash can. Glad I did because they make it much easier to move it. It still takes force, but it will move.

IMG_45832280110473.jpeg

Decided to go for the big boy first. And it did it no problem. It bound up while spinning off the top bead a bit because of the lack of lube, but i was able to twist it by hand.

I gotta get some lube for tires because I did one of my trailer tires and kind of ate up the bead seat. Gonna be ordering the lube/brushes and a nylon duck head.

Well since I now own a tire machine, I thought i might as well purchase the sibling tool.

Coats 650 Wheel balancer.
It currently runs on single phase 120V, I might convert it over to 240V (It has the ability).

I loaded it up and got it home to only find out that the delicate screen now looks like this:

IMG_20141112_212741_376.jpg

IMG_20141112_212746_731.jpg

Talk about being frustrated

I emailed a supplier for parts for coats equipment to see if they can get the stick on screen. Else Ill print out a template from the user manual and make one.

It looks like you tried the same manual tire changer as I did!
I'll bet you're happier with the Coats!:)

Also, you don't shy away from difficult projects. Kudos!
A real garage has to work!

The difficult work is what keeps it interesting. I had a guy bring me a rough running ford focus the other day.. Did a compression check cleaned plugs, regapped etc to only find out they never pushed cyl 4 plug wire on tight. I had pulled it off and it moved freely.

:willy_nil This is how i feel with some vehicles.

Luke if you want to come check it out to make sure 40x30 is enough let me know.
I already know its not enough but to jump to 30x50 or 40x40 isn't going to be in the budget for a while. I might need to take you up on that some day. I tend to spend a bunch of time doing fab work on offroad trucks too.

Thought putting it on mowers dollies would help us....
10888754_10152699672485967_2093099980297065528_n.jpg

Got it in...
10882277_10152700514680967_7684976027076635029_n.jpg

After blowing out two movers dollies and our backs its in. I have to get this customers jeep out of the garage before it goes up. Me and my neighbor pushed it 3 feet on the movers dollies before one collapsed. So we put the hoist and one movers dolly on it. Got one side in the garage, then the other dolly shattered. So we put the hoist outside and propped up the inside with a floor jack. We got it in but that was no easy.

Put together the oil drain.
