Its coming....
Whats the extra l for?
Its coming....

Damn. I can't wait for a SHLLF80.

Can you elaborate? like these (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/tools.asp?tool=all&Group_ID=682972&store=snapon-store) but with a longer handle than the 6 1/4"?i am sorry but i had two TLL72 as one is 1/4dr and other one is 3/8dr in 1/4dr body as powerstroke has special socket but in too tight area where 1/4dr will fit in...
What on earth does that mean lol. s is 1/2" correct? F=3/8", T=1/4"?Damn. I can't wait for a SHLLF80.

longer than FL80? I don't think I want that.
Thank you. Haha touche'SHLLF80 would equal extra long 1/2" drive comfort grip flex head.
25" is just too short.

Thank you. Haha touche'
I was on SO site trying to dissect and understand the codes. S= 1/2" H= comfort grip (X would be locking flex?) L= Long handle, LL= extra long handle 80= dual 80, everything correct?
What is the F before the 80? Flex? but basic 3/8 is f80 and doesn't have flex head? And what is the A after 80 on all the 1/2"?
Ya I figured out the drive size letters. And ya I noticed the 1/4 dual "80" are only 72. Thats probably enough though? I wonder if they'll ever put 80s in them. why not, craftsman has 84 and so on.Drives:
T= 1/4
F= 3/8
S= 1/2
F can also mean flex, and for 1/4 its a TF72 (1/4 drive are 72 tooth, not 80).
FLF80 is (F)3/8 (L)long handle (F)flex head (80)80 tooth.
The others you have right, but I'm pretty sure the first letter always designates the drive size, and after that it describes the function/style.
The A is a superceded part number, they changed something (dont remember what) on the original dual 80 1/2" drives...so the revised ones get the A.
My SLF80 is the "old" version...but still works for me so I'm not sure what the change was.
My favorite is a FSLF936 w/ a Dual 80 head attached...

Ah perfect. That would be the "A" update or "B" Update. If A, do you know the B update? Thank you!They changed the cover plate screw design on the 1/2" rats.

F "can" or "does" mean flex head? I noticed 3/8 flex are only long handles, "flf..." no FF80. Where as 1/4 has standard length flex, T72 -> flex TF72. That's probably what threw me off.
Ahh Ok I get the A now. Updates like m16s; m16A1, A2...
That speeder ratchet is too cool! I'm about to take the engine class where we'll take apart and rebuild a pushrod v8, and a speeder is towards the top of my "to buy" list. Then I saw one of those speeder ratchets on ebay the other day and thought "perfect!!", http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nice-Snap-On-Tools-3-8-Drive-Speeder-Ratchet-Wrench-FSLF936-/330850599195
but was a bit discouraged by the 95 price tag on a 36 tooth : ( I jus googled the part number and came across your thread about when you got it? That is crazy lucky that it came with a 80 tooth head. (whole head or just internals?) You got it off ebay too, how much if you don't mind me asking (bid or buy it now)? Know anywhere else to get it? Really wish SO still made it so I could get it with my student discount lol.
Thank you very much for clarifying! Im in tech school and just got acquired the student discount as I mentioned, so now's probably the perfect time to learn the codes.
Ah perfect. That would be the "A" update or "B" Update. If A, do you know the B update? Thank you!
F can and does mean flex head, it depends on the placement in the part number. if its the first letter, it means 3/8, after that it means Flex.
I didnt think there was a FF80 but I didnt want to speak out of term.
The FCF72 is a cool one too...

About my FCLF936...rhe internals arent interchangable...it was the whole head that had been replaced (which I had intended on doing anyways).
I got mine on eBay for right around 100 give or take $15...I honestly dont remember.
There's also a 1/4 drive speeder ratchet I'll get some day, but its not high on the list and they're a bit harder to find seemingly.
Edit: still cannot find a FF80, but this FHF80 is pretty close:http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=682403&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog
Guess its like the FHOF80 (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=682403&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog) Offset handle; only made in comfort grip?
I've seen that compact 3/8 in 1/4 body, that is really cool! It's already on my list of Snap on tools to get with my S.D. Theres 2 lengths though, you don't need or even would want both would you? which one is better?
Its coming....
When will it be available?

Huh really? I would'a thought short flex would be pretty useful. Ok, good to know grip models are longer. In general do you prefer chrome or grip? Oh nice FHX80, I've read someone say that was their go-to ratchet. You like locking flex over non locking?You are correct, the FF80 doesn't exist. IMO it would be too short and not practical as a flex ratchet. The FHF80 is the closest you'll get, all Comfort grip models are longer than their bare handle counterparts. I would skip those though and just go with a FHX80 if it must be Snap-On. Its IMO one of the best all round Snap-On Ratchets(Matco's version is a bit easier to use tho BFR128LFTG)
As far as the 3/8" in a 1/4" body, I've played with them and considered one but haven't done it yet. There are two models, the difference in length is probaly the flex(FCF72) vs. non-flex(FC72). It's been said here that Wright does these better with their 3440 and 3430 Respectively. Both of which are cheaper than the SO versions and Made in 'Merica as well.
So you prefer comfort or even hard grips over chrome? O dang, selling your FLSF? If I had the spare money I'd def like to take it off your hands lol. Hopefully in a little bit I can get one. Thanks man
I'll leave that one alone.........![]()

Ya it is flex that's the difference. which do you think would be better?
I might try the 3430 as its only $36 compared to $50
If can student discount can be used Snap-Ons are about $35/6 and about $42 respectively.
When will it be available?
SnapOn man told me Feb. 8th, but also said the TLL72 was 2-3 months late so this one may be late to.
Sounds like they won't be released with soft grip handles. Not initially anyways. Damn! What a bummer!
dammit, I just bought the Matco 15" 3/8
