Value? Used, Good casters /wheels, good rod finish on the Ram, Unknown rebuild history $50, Good Rebuild and ready to go.. $150 +/-.

My opinion only, it's possible to find a Buyer looking for the Jack willing to pay more.

Thanks for the reply. With no model number or manufacturer shown on the jack, how did you determine that the capacity is 1.25 tons? I have a Canadian Tire jack (steel) which is much lighter and has a capacity of 2.5 tons. Thanks.

Hiball and Paulsomlo are hydraulic jack experts. They've built and rebuilt thousands if not millions and are considered gurus. Without labels and/or tags, they can identify jacks from a mile away.

It's not - the parts list linked to covers both SJ-1 and SJ-2. Your jack is an SJ-2, which has a capacity of 1.5 tons.

I have a 1.5 ton Sears jack, probably made in the '80's, same capacity as my SJ-2, allegedly. The Sears jack is roughly half the size and looks like a toy compared to the SJ-2. You can attribute it to inflation - much like those 6 hp shop vacs that somehow run from a 15 amp circuit, defying the laws of physics.

That's putting me in very rich company - Hiball is the expert, I just dabble. And I happen to own several SJ-2's.

Thanks for the info. So I have a SJ 2. Manufactured by what company? I am unable to lift this jack. Guess they just made them heavier back then. Thanks.

Ok, so I believe I found the answer on another post. Blackhawk sj2 rebuild. Mine works fine. So I can expect to sell it for maybe $50.00? Thanks.

"Mine works fine". I assume it will lift a load to full height, that it will hold the load for 30 minutes with out leaking down, and that there are no external hydraulic leaks (this includes both main ram and the pump).

If so, I'd start it in Craigslist for $125 and be prepared to negotiate from there.

Thanks. I will jack up the Crown Vic to full height, measure lift height and measure again after 30 minutes. I am missing the name plate. But am I also missing a side plate bracket? If so, does that affect the safety or operation of the jack? Thanks again.

Hi there! I too have a floor jack that I need to identify so I can order a seal kit. I should have taken some pictures prior to disassembly but I didn't. Hope the pictures I provided are good enough.

piston diameter = 1.42"
piston rod length = 7"
hyd. block = 5.5" x 3.875" x 2"
floor jack color = light blue
floor jack handle color = yellow

I got this jack from my late father. I believe it to be from the 60's or 70's, but I could be wrong. It definitely has sentimental value and I'd like to repair and use it. I really would appreciate if someone can point me in the correct direction. I'm not sure if I need to order the seal kit by specific manufacturer or size...or if they just sell a generic kit that fits a few sizes. Where is the best place to go for parts?
Thanks for your help.

Looks like a Walker 867 or 767 to me.

Looks like an old Walker - scroll up to Hiball's post in this thread and try calling the place listed in his signature, they should be able to help.

WOW!! That's more info than I ever expected anyone to have! Thank you very much.
I see on the parts diagrams that the Model 767 is rated at 1-1/2 tons. What is the rating for the Model 867? How do I distinguish which model I have? Are the piston sizes different, or is there another part that could positively identify which model I have?
I'll be giving Hydraulic Parts Supply to see what they can offer for a kit.
Thanks again:)

Both the 767 and 867 were 1.5 tons. They were the precursors to the current day 93642/93652 jacks. The 767 being the older model number. I can’t tell the difference between the two. I believe both were in the leather piston cup era. Maybe you can print out the parts pages and compare all the part numbers to see which ones changed. Presumably something got changed between the two models, but it could have been just a cosmetic change. I’m pretty sure that long standing hydraulic shops like the one Paulsomlo suggested will be able to supply you with a needed seal kit, it could potentially be the same seals that fits the 767 and 867.

I called the Hyd Parts Supply and they confirmed that the 767 and 867 are the same jacks. The guy suspected the 767 was an earlier model but still the same jack.
Parts have been ordered. Thanks for all the help.

Whats the plan? Full restoration with paint or keeping the vintage look and just mess with the hydraulics?

If I had a color photo of what it should look like, I probably would bring it back to the original look! For now, I think I'll just settle to get the hydraulics in good working order.
.....unless someone can direct me to some nice pics:)

It took a while, but I got it done!
I tried sourcing individual seals locally but no one could help me. Steve at Hyd Parts Supply got me the rebuild kit. Thank you very much:beer: Although the leather cup seals for the pump had the wrong ID (too small), I made them work.
Rebuilt the pump and lifting cylinder, cleaned out and lubricated the castor wheel swivel bearings. Cleaned it up, sanded it down, gave it a few coats of Rustoleum paint and two coats of clear. Although the paint may not match the original, I think it came out looking not too bad and is now a useable jack! ....and it held a vehicle up over night without any internal or external leakage!
Rebuild successful:rocker: I wish there would have been a decal kit available with the seal kit but apparently not.

Hi, Im new here and was hoping to get some help with identifying this old floor jack I got from my dad recently. I need to find a rebuild kit for it, but there is only a number on the side and a barely readable imprint of the word BEIJING on part of it. I found one just like it on ebay, but the person has no information on this jack either. Here are some pics the ******** ebay and the number off my jack. If anyone can help identify it I would really appreciate it, because I cant seem to find any info on this thing at all. My dad thinks he bought the jack back in 1976, if that helps.20220906_235717.jpg20220914_160026.jpg20220914_155914.jpg20220914_155806.jpg20220914_155748.jpg

Generic Asian import, most likely - from Hiball's signature:
Need a Seal Kit? Contact Hydraulic Parts Supply at 620-594-2247

You may have to do some disassembly to id the seals.

Just added jack oil. Lifts great but I can't get it to go down without weight on it. Not sure of the model or what to do to fix it?

Make sure the release is functioning correctly, make sure all the retracting springs are present, and check for binding/lubrication on the pivot points.

As far as maker, ya got me - based on the shape of the tag, could be an old Walker, but the caster mounts are not what I'd expect.
