I saw this over at SD. Eastwood has a free wrench promo. Go to the site and click the big red button to add a free 10mm ratcheting wrench to your cart with free shipping. No cc info is required or anything.

I have no idea of the quality of these, but since one of my cars is put together with ALL 10mm fasteners, it can't hurt to have another to throw in the trunk, especially for free...

EDIT: The confirmation page seems to "be offline" but I did get an email confirmation. I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

I couldn't get through the website ordering system, so I just called the 800 number and was told that it is a sold out item and they're not getting any more.

Well that is lame. I don't see how they can "not get any more." Sure, they can stop the promo, but they WILL get more 10mm wrenches in stock. Fishy.

I did get an email confirmation, so we'll see if I actually get it.

If Slickdeals got wind of it, there's a whole lot of stay at home moms with a 10mm wrench on the way. Just because they can.

Unfortunately this is true...

Go ahead and setup a rule in email. I've never ever seen a company send out as many marketing emails as Eastwood does.

As I mentioned, I got the shipping email this morning. Well, I got the wrench this afternoon (via FedEx)! I wish Eastwood would be so quick with stuff I PAY for. :lol_hitti

I haven't had a chance to play with the wrench yet, but it DID come.

I'm glad at least a couple of us got it.

I took mine out of the wrapping yesterday and just played around with it. Compared to the GearWrench, it is 1-2mm shorter, but the resistance seems a good bit less. The clicks are, for lack of a better description, finer sounding.

I'll be interested to try it out eventually, since one of my biggest complaints about the GW is that they are too stiff on the backstroke. If I'm using one, there is a good chance it is because I have little access. If I have little access, I need the wrench to keep turning the fastener all the way to the end, but so many times, the GW won't work that way, so I have to get a finger onto the back of the bolt somehow to keep it from turning the one way.

Ok, now that that little rant is over...

Great, thanks for posting!

Who is the OEM on these new tools? Looks like they are Taiwan, probably same OEM as JH Williams Taiwan/Kobalt?

IMO, you would get a lot more props on this board if you made COO more available in the product descriptions, ESPECIALLY on your own products.

Thanks for letting us know before the generic "deals" sites. I missed out the first time. Nothing against them, you'll just have more success with a target market like us. I hope I put it in my survey, but most important factors are ( Quality, COO and Warranty). As far as Truck Brands - I don't drink the kool-aid.
