Need some help finding a subject again. My shop doors, 3 ea 12 w x 10 h have standard insulated garage doors with the rails that go horizontal at top of door. Want to save space and send the rails up the 3/12 pitch roofline then use a Liftmaster to raise and lower. Garage door guys told me you can't have the rails follow the ceiling and use a liftmaster. At one time, I found an old post on this forum that showed a company that sold all kinds of extensions. Anyone remember that sight? Anyone know if what I want to do is doable?

Don't need an extensio n to follow a roof pitch, but you do need a new set of springs...

Oh, and plan to upgrade the hinges (rollers and centers) between the bottom and 1st intermediate...

When you pitch the door, suddenly those take a lot more load and tend to bend - you'll want some 11ga hinges there for long term reliability...

You can definitely use 3800 jackshaft operators with 3/12 pitch. You may need to use rollers with ball bearings and spring pushers to keep the cables from throwing off the drums... but you can definitely do it!
