Spent some time in the house the last part of December being sick so not much got done. I did get the SWAG table primed and painted.KIMG1557.JPG

KIMG1558.JPG
Trying to figure out what holes I'll be using as the SWAG table insert has a multiple bolt holes for various saws. I'm considering welding the extra holes up or cutting a new plate using this one as a pattern.

Then I spent a little more time another day, removing the wheels studs so these axles can be shipped back to Moser for some repair work. They are currently sitting a box somewhere, probably in a UPS truck or warehouse.

I simply filled the extra holes on my Swag band saw stand with silicone. Now it's obvious which holes to use when setting my saw up on that table.

So I did a few small projects in the garage today after some running around.

I picked up a Dewalt SDS drill yesterday and some new bits for it. So I made a PVC holder for the bits.

KIMG1578.JPG

Then I had an old Dewalt 14.4 drill that lived beyond it's life. Well atleast it's batteries did and it's a few generations old. So I took the case for it.
KIMG1579.JPG

Using the multi-tool, I skimmed out the guts of the box.
KIMG1580.JPG

Since I had decent space left over, I put all the crown staples in the box too.

Since I sent my axles off last week to get repaired, I need to get a few things done to the 8.8 rear end.

KIMG1582.JPG

I pulled the spool out and got it up on the bench.
KIMG1583.JPG

Now, I have an empty housing. I'm going to weld the brackets onto the housing before I knock something out of whack and have to work at getting back in place.

I’ve did the same thing to hold my M12 impact driver, drill and charger with an old tool case along with a couple of small bit cases.

Occasionally I’ll see an empty case in a thrift store to keep a homeless tool and accessories together.

Maybe an outside fresh air intake to your return air when grinding, sanding, and painting?

Awesome work space, and amazing work you have put into your projects. From a fellow ford fan ( 70s trucks) I like seeing the mustang updates too, took two weeks of and on to get through you posts

Thanks. I've been working quite a bit so I haven't got much time or ambition to get anything done.

As I was saying above, been working a bunch of overtime time at the station so I'm not getting as much garage time. Couple that with lack of sleep from now being the EMS provider for the city,

I haven't had much motivation to get much done. I was off yesterday and picked up my new plasma cutter at the FedEx dock. I also made a quick run to Menards while I was close by. Stocked up on Brakleen.KIMG1669.JPG

I bought a Hobart 27i plasma cutter. I was hoping to do an unboxing of it last night. However, the wife got off work early and I needed to get 4-5" of snow out of the driveway. So between, doing that, grabbing some Subway with the wife, I decided to do the unboxing today. . . But I'm at work.

Tomorrow is my duty day so it should have been a 48 that I was working. I took tomorrow off so I can get a few things done.

Here's what I can tease with for a picture.KIMG1668.JPG

After clearing the driveway last night, the snow continued like it did for many others here at GJ. I wanted the wife to be able to get out if need be.

I got up at 0445 this morning, showered, dressed and broke out the John Deere. Drive way was clear again before I left for work.KIMG1670.JPG

Looks good! Your pics are just blurry enough I can't read the model, what is it? Might have to add that to my growing list of expensive tools I need to buy soon.

LOL, it works alright for the testing of it. I need to get myself a set of tinted glasses. Not just tinted safety glasses that I have been using.

Yeah, it's an older digi camera. It never did take the best pictures.

It's a Hobart 27i and the the newer version part# 500575, replaced the 500565. I was looking at TSC as they had the old price still on the shelf. . . $1399. If they were still doing their 10% coupon, it would have been a really good deal at $1260. Unfortunately a fellow member informed me that TSC no longer does the 10% off coupon.

So I went with Cyberweld. $1314 with free shipping.

I finally got some time to get a few things done or atleast get farther in a on going project. I put the 8.8 rear end back on the welding table. . . yes, I need a bigger welding table. I went around the LCA brackets and tried to weld up what wasn't welded.

Never did I think I would have a little problem getting going on this thing. I had to flip, rotate and prop this thing up in a few directions to get it where it was comfortable to weld on it. I welded small sections as to not put too much heat into it.

As I fwas finishing up bringing in firewood, so it can dry out while I'm at work for the next 40 hours, the Fedex truck showed up. It dropped off a package from Summit, some -8 braided line to replace the 25 year stuff on the Mustang.

On your SWAG table, I originally bought the powdercoated top, but after looking at it I realized it wasn't going to hold up, the swarf can get under the piece being cut and scratch the table top. So, I swapped back for the non coated one.....they also sent me an undrilled top plate because the one they sent was so far out of whack the blade would drag on the edge...... so I drilled new holes in that one to get the blade straight and square to the table

I figured the table would get scratched as well. That's why I chose to buy a bare one and paint it with Rustoleum.

So last night I spotted this piece of rotted wood. I was slightly puzzled for a second until I reached up under the bottom of the siding. Yep, this is where it came from. This was a PT 1x4 not in direct ground contact completely rotted out in about 12 years. I guess I must say that I'm slightly surprised that it did this.

So once the weather breaks, I'll be pulling the siding off this section and doing some repair work. I might also be adding a piece of gutter with a down spout. I'll tie the downspout right into the tile under the river rock.

Maybe the Tyvek didn't cover that portion?

No tyvek was used. I used foil faced OSB.

That corner always seemed to lay a little wet, even with a tile 12" down in the ground. Maybe it lays wetter than I ever thought.

I loaded these pics up the other day on the garage PC and with Onedrive, I'm not quite sure where the heck they went.

Well Damn.. . I found the pictures finally.

These are the ends put together.

I started with centering one tab on the rear end. Once it was where I wanted, I welded both sides of the tab.

DSCN0035.JPG

Once the top tab was on, I used a bolt with a stack of washers to locate the second tab.
DSCN0036.JPG
I did each side in the same manner and moved from one side doing one tab as to not forget anything.

Today before work, I made up a short extension cord for the SWAG bandsaw. Then I cut the tubing for the braces.KIMG1694.JPG

Those short pieces are going to be some test parts for welding. I cleaned them up and stuck bolt through them to hold them together.
KIMG1696.JPG

These are the tubes for the braces. I drilled holes in them to do a rosette weld before welding the tubing and tubing ends together. Cleaned up and ready to go. . . . maybe Saturday after windows get tinted on the wife's Jeep. . . . and possibly rear brakes on my F250.
