I fail to see the point of this thread. Just some guy who is unable to clean out his junky garage. Am I missing something?
Yes sir, you are.

Chicane, if that's all you are seeing, then you have missed the point. Its not actually a garage thread, its a man who is taking his demon head on and incidentally, kicking its rear quite well.

Well, the Office/3rd bedroom is far from complete but a couple of photos to show progress. Note that it started out as many other rooms with stuff literally bulging out the door and filling the room and door floor to ceiling and wall to wall. The photos here show the stuff from in the doorway already pulled out into the hall. Then the middle of the room with most of the stuff removed leaving quite a lot of things still stacked around the perimeter. When complete, this room will be warm and inviting but without any extra elements. I picture one desk with 2 computers and 3 chairs, a bookcase and maybe a TV.

I had a Sony TV just like the one in your photo (well maybe bigger, my was 27") that I bought in 1991. About 4 years ago I replaced it with a flat screen and moved that Sony, unused, to the floor of my guest house. It sat there in the way accumulating more junk around it until October of this year. I finally had to get rid of it because I needed the room to store my son's stuff while he is away for two years for work.
I don't know why, but when I see your old TV it is clearly junk to me. (I mean no offense!) But my TV, which was identical to yours, never seemed like junk at all. In fact to get rid of it I had to donate it to Goodwill because in the back of my mind it's the same $1000 TV I bought in 1991 and it's not junk.
Your thread (with a little bit of necessity thrown in) helped inspire me to clean out the guest house. I must have filled up a dozen large trash bins (I blame most of the junk on my wife.) and donated as much. All that **** sat there for six years doing nothing for us, except making us curse any time we had to go out there for something.
I shouldn't interrupt the work to post, but your post got to me. (I get email notifications on my phone from the thread). I have been tripping over that TV (Also a 27") for many years because it originally cost over $500.00 and it still works and I could use if on cable (If I had cable) or for a closed circuit TV security system or...............???
Well, it has a cracked case that is coming apart and today will go in the dumpster by nightfall.
And I have contacted the very nice guy from Swisstrax and in the spring, when this is all cleaned up..........!!!
I will have to photo and document the "Great Little Garage".......a successor to the "Grunge Garage"!
Bill
Keep going, Bill.
I may have to paint you a sign saying, 'Grunge No More Garage.'
